It's not a prediction, it's a fact. The government has refused to sell uranium to India for 5 years now and will not sell for the foreseeable future.

india is not going to use the uranium received buy australia to make a nuclear bomb , it needs uranium to meet its ever increasing energy demands , our energy demands are gonna increase two folds in few years , thus the indian gov has set a target of producing 20000 mw of nuclear energy to facilitate this demand by 2020 , we already have a lot of nukes with us so why produce more , if australia can't undersand this we will have to start looking for other options , we have already signed some uranium deals with kazakistan should even approach canada , when countries like the U.S can sign nuclear deals with india why can't australia?

Former Australian Prime Minister Howard was pragmatic and was all for supplying India with uranium under safeguards. Even though not a big fan of current opposition leader Tony Abbot he will get my vote the next election.

FEDERAL Resources and Energy Minister Martin Ferguson came under fire recently when a leaked diplomatic cable revealed that in 2009 he told the US embassy in Canberra that ‘‘a deal to supply India with nuclear fuel could be reached in three to five years’’.

This was pretty interesting though. It seems like Labour Party just wants to keep its Green voters happy for the time being. Maybe their policy isn't based on moral and principles after all? Either that or they think that India will sign NPT and CTBT sometime soon.

I believe what aussie4ever is trying to say is that it's not very Australian of you to support selling uranium to India JUST because of your Indian heritage.

Aussie4ever makes sense, if you start a petition solely asking only for Indians to support you are inadvertently segregating yourselves from Australians in general which might backfire with Aussies of other races. Its an all or nothing deal.
