The SQS-53B, located in a large dome at the bow of the ship, will detect, identify, and track multiple underwater targets. AN/SQS-53C bow sonar contains a large cylindrical transducer. A high-power, long-range system.

Kirov in fact has outdated system, besides its large displacement and large number of oversize missile. I question Kirov effectiveness in nowadays modern naval warfare.

In terms of system, i guess Ticonderoga class has better version of AEGIS, because they are BMD capable, i am not sure i red it somewhere.

U.S. Navy Aegis BMD Vessels
As of May 2014, there are 5 Ticonderoga class cruisers and 25 Arleigh Burke class destroyers equipped with BMD in the U.S. Navy. Of the 30 ships, 16 are assigned to the Pacific Fleet and 14 to the Atlantic Fleet.[20] Under MDA and Navy plans, the number of BMD-capable Navy Aegis ships is scheduled to grow from 33 at the end of FY2014 to 43 at the end of FY2019. The Navy’s FY2015 30-year (FY2015-FY2043) shipbuilding plan projects that the total number of Aegis cruisers and destroyers will be between 80 and 97 during the 30-year period

There are 22 Ticonderoga class ships operational (so 5 is 23%) and there are 62 Arleigh Burke class ships operational (so 25 is 40%)

Sir in terms of capability of sensors and processing systems, is the BMD capable ticonderoga and ddg-51 class, better than sejong class because US doesn't export its top line equipment?

are you talking about the sampson radar ?

the US doesn't that setup

the US, along with china, uses much larger(thus heavier) fixed arrays,
due to size they are mounted lower but of course has greater power, also there's 4 arrays rather than 2 rotating ones like the sampson

im pretty sure penguin was talking about the sonar bulge

Hyunmoo cruise missiles will be useful against Japanese civilian and military targets should the Japanese try to do anything stupid regarding the Dokdo islets.

This is a bit unnecessary, there will be no invasion of Liancourt Rocks. Besides I believe the issue with Takeshima will ultimately be solved soon.

why does it have a droped bulbus bow?

Its design is specified to help increase the speed, help to reduce drag, and most importantly stability while the ship makes evasive combat maneuvers. The same specification has been seen on our Atagos as well as on the Kongos.

Beautiful ship! Brittania rule the waves! ;)
