Practicing is one thing, shoving your opinions down someone elses'' throats is another. The latter is goondagiri.Where did I do goondagardi? I only practiced Hindutva.
Keep your religious practice hidden as one hides their undergarments. This goes for all religious nutcases.
Second, you mistake me to be a Congress supporter. I am NOT. And neither am I obliged to disclose my political leaning.
That being said...
Whatever, most in my community dont like such people. Yeddy was/is not liked.Yup, you seem to be clueless as to how your community views the entire affair. I called you a liberal, not the Lingayats in general.
Oh, you seem to mistake Lingayats to be hardcore conservatives. They are among the most liberal communities you could find.
Their country their rules. ALso, according to the US Consitution, US is a secular country. The Govt on the other hand has powers to declare holidays - religious or otherwise. The govt had declared 25th Dec to be a religious holiday. Their prerogative.Yeah why would a secular society only have holiday for the majority community and not the minority community? Seems opposite to the kind of secularism you want in India, doesn't it?
If another govt comes and declares holidays for other religions, so be it. That is a political question, not a consitutional one.
Comprende?
Actually yes. And no, there are no 'legal' hurdles as such. One needs a sizable population for the religious place to be feasible. Period. Now do you suppose Hindus find it so easy to build a temple in USA? Do you know how many legal hurdles they have to cross to get to build their temple on even the outskirts of the city in USA? Secular?
