SC upholds decision of demolishing Nasla Tower in Karachi
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday has upheld the decision of demolishing Nasla Tower in Karachi.

During the hearing at Karachi registry, the court has rejected review petitions and ordered the commissioner to evacuate the tower in one month. The apex court has also sought implementation report on the issue.
Earlier, SCP had issued written orders to demolish the Nasla Tower in Karachi.
The Supreme Court remarked that the building should be demolished, as proved by the record that Nasla Tower was built on the occupied land.
The top court remarked that it had reviewed the documents of all the concerned institutions.
According to the order, demolition of the tower should be started as soon as possible after eviction of the occupants.
The written order further stated that the apex court ordered the Commissioner to take immediate custody of Nasla Tower building, no concession can be given on illegal constructions.

I've got a better idea. Transfer ownership of it over to the persons who's land it was built on. If it was built on state land, then transfer it over to the state and let the state earn from the rent. This might be a much better approach than knocking down homes. The state could aggresively persue loads of illegal properties built on state lands. The properties could then once the current leases finish be turned into low cost social housing.

It should be demolished so people learn lesson and stop buy property on govt land.

Yeah it should be demolished to teach people lesson that don't build buildings on state land

But gents if the person loses the building, then the financial loss to him will be there - that will be the lesson. By demolishing it, the state gains empty land, by seizing it and turning it into a state owned property, the state gains an asset and the rent that comes with it.

Should punish the govt officials that allowed its construction

I'm pretty sure this building is being demolished because its build on gujjar nala. Many poor people living around gujjar nala have been forced out. Its only fair this fancy looking building too be demolished to teach a lesson for coming corrupt officials and buyers of these properties.

The court will do it and then it will be a never-ending story. In every following case, the reference to the first decision will be there and then we all will condemn the court again and again.
Let pain be there so in the future the criminals/mafias should think twice before committing such illegal actions.
Further, those institutions responsible for the prevention of land grabbing and involved in passing the plan should also be booked to answer.
