Saudis Treatment of Zam Zam Water

When i was watching the video i was noticing there was no policeman in the surrounding and men who were emptying the cans looked syrian , jordanian arabs and not saudis plus the garbs those men were wearing who were emptying the cans looked like typical traditional egyptian, jordanian menswear. And here is the actual detail.

This thread is misleading, the water was not wasted by Saudi officials, its the jordanian pilgrims who did it.

Why i got a bit startled and tried to search for details was because during the video the man filming it says "had it been another gov the Iranian government they would have supported us and allowed us to go through ,they are true hakim ul waqts" so i felt something about video is misleading.

Anyways, this is the actual news below @Windjammer @BATMAN @PakSword

Pilgrims angry as Saudi asks for fees to carry Zamzam water; video goes viral
The Peninsula Online

Doha: "This is from God, not from them," says a Jordanian pilgrim, who was filming his compatriots emptying several cans of Zamzam water at the Saudi Arabian border on their way back from performing Umrah.

In an unprecedented move, the pilgrims were told to pay an exorbitant fee at the border by Saudi officials for transporting Zamzam water cans to Jordan. This infuriated the pilgrims and in protest they emptied all the cans at the border.

One of the pilgrims shot a video of the protest act and circulated it in social media and it has gone viral in the Arab world.

The video has ignited intense discussion on social media and has infuriated many believers.

"The new Saudi government is preventing pilgrims from carrying Zamzam water," one of the pilgrims was heard saying in the video.

"Water that people have been drinking for thousands of years for free is now forbidden unless you pay for it," he added.

In response to the video, the Saudi embassy in Jordan called on pilgrims to ensure that Zamzam water is obtained from official sources. According to the statement, a passenger is only allowed to carry one packet from King Abdullah's project of Zamzam water.

Saudi Arabia have imposed 5 percent VAT on Zamzam water at the beginning of March 2018, coinciding with the rise in electricity and fuel prices, which have caused anger among many in Saudi Arabia.

So the tax is imposed because the Saudi gov spends 700 plus million riyals on zam zam purification projects, they did in 2016 or 2017.

But the water so shamelessly wasted by done by jordanian pilgrims.

.
While Muslims around the world revere the Zam Zam water from Mecca, and always take some with them after pilgrimage to the holy city, and then distribute it amongst family and friends taking great caution that not a drop spills to the ground, this is how Saudi authorities after confiscating it from Jordanian pilgrims are destroying gallons of same water. The Jordanians were asked to pay some form of tax for water, which they refused to do so upon which the Saudi authorities decided to show their true colours and love to Ummah.

These are not Saudi officials but Jordanians themselves who are destroying water bottles after having issue with transportation company who refuse to carry large amount of water and asking for more money...

Before posting such news please do some research.

Have a nice day.
