Though I still believe that KSA is buying their way into Russia and nothing wrong with it. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. There is no need for adversarial melodrama. Besides US is shaking hands with Iran so why can't KSA warm up to Russia?

I don't get many chances of doing my thing on PDF due to the nature of the platform but I actually found this discussion interesting as it was serious for once. We need more such discussions instead of the usual "my willy is bigger than yours" type of discussions that PDF mostly consists of. Added with a great amount of ignorance.

True. In any case are all countries not doing just that in one way or form? I believe so.

In reality there is no ouster goal here. Just improving bilateral relations. The US already knows that KSA has really close business relations with US rivals, for instance China which is the biggest trading partner of KSA.

I don't see the problem. Russia has no real kinship with Iran. It is simply in Russia's geopolitical interest to have a stake in the region. If both Saudi Arabia and Iran want weapons from Russia, Russia will sell to them both.

That being said, I only think this is to get Russia ease support for Assad as Putin knows he is a lost cause.

As for weapons? I don't know what Russia can sell us. Perhaps weapon systems that Russia has an edge over the West? (Anti Ship Missiles, Submarines, SPAAGs...etc)

Brother do you think that the Russians would ever consider selling the new Armata tank and do you think that it would suit our terrain (desert, steppe, hills, rugged terrain, mountains) and climate (mostly arid)? Is Russia even willing to sell it to other countries in the foreseeable future? I am asking because I have no clue and have not researched this myself.

Also can you be precise in terms of anti ship missiles, submarines, SPAAG's etc.? I am not really well-versed in Russian military hardware.

Honestly speaking I would most prefer if we started working very closely with the Chinese. I think that I trust them the most out of the 3 main world powers and they are bound to become the new superpower once again IMO.
