My hostoric knowledge tells me, Nasser , was an anti-Imerialism president of Egypt who nationalized the Suez channel and liberated it from UK's occupation. Huh, he is the only honorable guy between Arabic political men in the Arab history and please don't shoot yourself in the feet!!!.
I never said he was terrible, Nasser is a mixed bag. He made Education free and hoped modernize Egypt further, his nationalization of the Suez became a rallying call of Arab-Nationalism against colonial oppressors, he also helped create the golden age of Egyptian media and culture. But he was a mixed bag. His polices would create decades of gross-incompetence in the running of Egypt and his cronies would cause serious disruption in Egypt. His nationalizing of industry companies would lead to the Egyptian military having a ridiculous amount of control in Egypt's economy and making it a incredibly powerful and corrupt institution. Some of his policies would lead to Hosni Mubarak having such a strong control of Egypt.
Nasser was probably one of Modern Egypt's greatest and worst leader, more of mixed bag then you think. History is a lot more complex and nuanced then you think my friend. Of course he was a million times better then the monarchy which were complete puppets and idiots like Farouk the first who spent the wealth of Egypt on themselves and taking extravagant trips across the world and wasting ridiculous amounts of money on cars and stupid things.
