Saudi FM threatens Iran with confrontation after nuclear talks breakthrough

Ostensibly angered by the successful conclusion of nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers, the Al Saud regime has threatened to “resolutely” confront the Islamic Republic over any alleged “mischief” in the region.

Following a Thursday meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Washington, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said Riyadh is “committed to confront” the Islamic Republic should Iran “try to cause mischief in the region.”

He made the comments only two days after Iran and the P5+1 states reached a conclusion on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in the Austrian capital city of Vienna.

The success of Iran-P5+1 nuclear talks is viewed by political experts as a major blow to Israel and Saudi Arabia, who have been the two major critical voices seeking to throw a monkey wrench in the diplomatic process.

This is while the international community has praised the outcome of more than a decade diplomatic efforts aimed at closing the Iranian nuclear dossier, with many world leaders saying the historic conclusion of nuclear discussions could help promote peace and cooperation in the region.

Jubeir further claimed that Iran should not use the economic benefits that it will gain following the breakthrough in the nuclear talks to pursue “adventures in the region.”

The comments come as the Riyadh regime is itself currently engaged in a deadly military campaign against neighboring Yemen since March 26. The latest UN figures show more than 3,800 people have so far lost their lives due to the Saudi aggression.

On July 11, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei lauded Iran’s “astonishing and spiritual presence and influence” in the region, which have incurred wrath of Saudi aggressors.

The Leader said Saudi Arabia and its allies have been pounding Yemen and brutally killing the innocent and oppressed Yemeni people over the past 100 days mainly due to Iran’s influence in the region.

Besides its war crimes against Yemen, the oil-rich Saudi kingdom has long supported the Takfiri terrorists wreaking havoc in the Middle East. Riyadh has also assisted the allied Al Khalifa regime in neighboring Bahrain in its heavy-handed clampdown on peaceful protests.

Saudi rulers have also been under fire by rights groups for quelling anti-Riyadh protests and cracking down on political dissidents in the kingdom.

Well it is not a secret that the Saudis are not happy with the deal....but I think Press TV is over-doing it here. Like seriously.

.
Press TV is a questionable source.

Things in the Middle-East are never black and white. Sometimes you think a side might be good and yet they turn out to be the bad guys and vice-versa. All I know is I don't trust Iran and Saudi alike.

.
The Saudis have already started blowing hot air even before the ink has dried on the Agreement! Have they heard of a word called PEACE?

Or will they continue with their shenanigans? The House of Saud is fuming as it will no more be the self styled boss of the Middle East. The Saudis have stiff competition now and will soon lose their exalted status. And that's what's getting their goat!!

Expect more fireworks in the coming days.

Mullah mouthpiece Piss-TV wanting their 5 minutes of fame. Enough said. The entire "article" from the beginning to the end is a joke. Typical for a Piss-TV article.

Now we only need Farce News and Al-Alam and the holy trinity is completed.

Maybe something about a Zionist plot as the icing on the cake and the emergence of "Imam" Khomeini from the dead.

Stop polluting this section with idiotic propaganda. Make an anti-House of Saud thread (separate) and post all the nonsense there. You have my blessings if the end goal is political reforms not only in KSA but the entire MENA region/Muslim world.

But don't forget the Mullah's in Iran, Al-Assad in Syria and countless of other dictators and highly corrupt regimes if you want to be taken seriously.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry can see that they are badly needed.

@Hasbara Buster if you truly want changes in the MENA region/Muslim world/world then don't be a hypocrite and "protect" your favorite dictators/corrupt regimes and cry about slightly better or worse ones because they don't fit your political agenda. Don't act like a sheep and say it like it is. The situation is as I described it in this post and there is no point in denying that. Of course I suspect that you already know this because how can a sane person not know it?

Even the worst Western "regime" is a billion times better than the best so-called "Muslim" regime. FACT. No amount of PissTV, Farce News or Al-Alam (or other propaganda) will ever change that fact.

piss TV failed to mention this i wonder why

He welcomed a deal with a “robust and continuous inspections regime to make sure Iran does not violate the terms of the agreement,” adding it should also have an effective and quick “snapback” mechanism that allows for sanctions to be quickly reimposed if Tehran violates Tuesday’s accord.
“We hope that the Iranians will use this deal in order to improve the economic situation in Iran and to improve the lot of the Iranian people, and not use it for adventures in the region,” Jubeir said.

.
What type of confrontation?

I think Saudis need a trip to a mental facility. They have gone bonkers. Fighting an illusion in Yemen and thinking they can do this to Iran as well need not be seen as a threat but more than mental degradation.

With Iran isolation coming to an end, a lot of powerful arab capitals feel their monopoly on the region will loosen. Hence these voices of insanity coming from them. For the last 35 years, rich Arab countries held sway and influence in the region and on the West. This will change now.

. .
Really failed to understand , why Suadis attack Yeman. Imagine bombing on eid day for no reason. Yemen attack Suadis ?.

. .
. .
Let the deal be concluded first, why to beat war drum beats unnecessary when there is no provocation from Iran

South Asian Oil and Gas future lies with IRAN and Turkmenistan. KSA had to negotiate with USA and Canada on it :)
