UNITED NATIONS, (SANA): Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Klhar held a bilateral meeting with her Saudi counterpart Prince Saud Al Faisal on the sidelines of the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly on Thursday.

The two leaders discussed issues of bilateral interest including the broader situation in the Middle East region as well as the situation in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister underlined the resolve of Pakistan to fight the menace of terrorism and highlighted the countless sacrifices made by the people of Pakistan and its security forces to counter this scourge.

The Saudi Foreign Minister commended the important role of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and stressed that the world should acknowledge the sacrifices made by Pakistan.

He also reassured the full and unwavering support of the people and Government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the people of Pakistan and expressed his sympathies at the loss of precious lives as a result of the devastating floods in Sindh.

Both sides found unanimity of opinion on all issues. The two sides also discussed the prospects of signing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Pakistan and the GCC countries to allow preferential access to the Pakistani products in the GCC markets.

The two Foreign Ministers also reiterated their resolve to continue to strengthen their strong and brotherly relations.

I find the free trade agreement to be the most beneficial for Pakistan and also will allow a greater deal of investment in Pakistan.

Why don't the Saudi's lead from the front and announce, say, a year or two of free oil to Pakistan?

Oh C'mon now!...acknowledge their sacrifices. :lol:
