Only Syrians themselves(well common man) are the losers. Nobody else dude.
It's like say the U.K getting all its cities destroyed and citizens killed by the hundreds of thousands and half our population displaced and the other half living under precarious conditions with no end of a brutal civil war war in sight as militants, proxy groups and government forces(kept in power by foreign militias and powers) are still fighting all over the country. All this because one single greedy barbarian dictator (say in this case David Cameron) refused to cede power even after him and his father ruled Britain ruthlessly for over half a century since our independence(though we have none. Lol). You think because of a glimmer of hope of government forces(kept in power with the massive heart help of foreign militias and powers ) retaking a big city destroyed by barely bombs, Tankas,artilleries and fightings to the dust, we Brits will be celebrating this?lol Joke of the century.
If this was to happen in any sane country, that leader will be cursed by all his people and remembered in history as the one who destroyed his country because of his greed and selfishness clinging to power over what is now a failed state. I'm shocked to see people here claiming there are victors(well apart from some foreign powers. Lol) . Pathetic what one man in the developing world can do just to stay in Power( As an example, Italy's president Mario Monti resigned today just because he lost a referendum which was asking his people if they agreed with his economic reforms policies or not, he was under no pressure whatsoever to resign and never faced any call to do so, afterall he was in power for barely 2years. these are leaders who care genuinely at least for their people and country.)

I'm not surprised though, most of North Africa, middle east,Subsahran Africa(just like South America during the 50s,to 80s) is ruled by such brutal geedy corrupt dictators who are ready to destroy their own country just to stay in Power. They always fool their people to justify their eternal stay in Power i.e you see them saying: ITS EITHER ME IN POWER FOREVER OR TOTAL DESTRUCTION.
