National Oil Company of Iran: Iranian oil tanker headed to Jeddah port due to technical failure

The Iranian National Oil Company (INOC) said that the Iranian oil tanker, which was sailing in the Red Sea, was heading to the port of Jeddah due to a technical malfunction in the engines, denying the reports of any oil spill.

The company said that the oil vessel headed two days ago to the Suez Canal, but the technical failures in the engines caused the prevention of sailing towards the channel, so it headed to the port of Jeddah being the nearest port, in coordination with officials (Saudis) concerned.

The company said the situation had been brought under control and that all 26 crew members were in good health.

The company confirmed that reports on the occurrence of environmental pollution caused by the leakage of oil in the water is unfounded.

Saudi media reported that the country's Coast Guard rescued an Iranian oil vessel off the Islamic port of Jeddah in the Red Sea.

The Spokesman for the General Directorate of Border Guards said that the Kingdom received an official Iranian request through the Permanent Saudi Delegation to the United Nations in New York from the Chargé d'Affaires of the Iranian Delegation for assistance, which was launched immediately after receiving the distress message. Taking care of the crew members and preventing any environmental damage, and provided necessary support and assistance.

They won't improve soon..these are humanitarian gestures not exclusive to Iran.. it could have been any ship from any country.. the same applies to the Saudi and UAE's donations to help the Iranian earthquake victims..It is just normal ..
