Saudi Arabia F-15SA Deal Details Released

Ras..No your information is incorrect and thus wrong.

Saudis have a deal in place with UK to upgrade 80 Tornados for $4.66 billion.
What makes you think those potential F-15C/D would be replaced. Give me a logical answer.
Here is something that you zip your lips.

The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) upgrades include components to extend the life of the fighter bombers and highly-accurate target acquisition pods.
The Goodrich Corporation announced it had been selected to upgrade Saudi Arabia’s fleet of 150 F-15 Eagle fighter aircraft with Grid-Lock flight controls. The retrofit of the aircraft ailerons, flaps, rudders and wing tips will bring them up to par with US Air Force F-15s, the company said.

“The RSAF recognized the improved lifecycle costs that the USAF is realizing on its flight control surfaces as a result of this innovative technology,” Marc Duvall, president of Goodrich Aerostructures, said in a statement.
The London-based Jane’s Defence Weekly reported.
That a July 2010 news now best part is new information has surfaced about upgrades with AESA and other systems as of Sep/Oct 2010.

So 72 F-15s are already SA standards.
Another 150(+3) goes through upgrades with SA standards.
Another 84 on order (SA/SE could be any of these two)

Look ras if you have some personal problem with Saudis say it don't try to make fool out of yourself you are not in us administration what you see is what you get and that is what it is, if you feel bad about such good deal write to us department of defense and protest.
ps. if they are getting better upgrades it shouldn't bother you.

We'll see about detection and destroying and what not later its good they're upgrading their airforce is that a bad thing if they end up with AESA radar?

If you love comparing i'll make you happy.
iaf
327 F-16s (half of them have AESA, rest are being or are going to be upgraded AESA)
83 F-15 B/D/I (All are going to be equipped with AESA)
25+55 option F-35

RSAF
308 or 305 F-15SA (ordered plus current fleet all will be equipped with AESA)
72+72 option EF-2000 Typhoon (72 optional orders could be canceled if US agrees to Silent Eagle sales) (All will be equipped with AESA)

500..No that article says nothing of israel.

. . .
500...isreal was seeking to block the F-15s deal, how would israel and isreali company allow such system to be integrated on board RSAF F-15s?

Wait...JHMCS was developed by Vision Systems International ( VSI) based on the Israeli DASH III and the Kaiser Agile Eye HMD systems. VSI is a joint venture company formed by Rockwell Collins, Elbit and Kaiser Electronics.

It has north american inputs as well not purely isreali. 1996 now its is 2010 us has done alot in the past 14 years agreed israelies have invented this marvelous thing.

You are double counting...the 84 jets they are getting now is all there is for the foreseeable future. They are only getting the SA block. They wanted the Silent Eagle but were refused.

The C/D can never be upgraded to SA standard. They are structural changes between the two.Anyway the C/D's in the Saudi airforce are old about 30 years old and in line to be replaced with the Typhoons.

Second the AESA the Saudi's are getting the APG 63 is somewhat on the lower end of the AESA's on offer from the US. Israel for instance is getting APG 81 with the F-35..it is much superior. Second Saudi Arabia is getting no stand off missiles.

I do not have any problem with the Saudis...they can buy all they want.Good for the US industry. But to say that they have the best air force in ME is not correct.

Israel does not care as long as they get the superior F 35's.If they did trust me this Saudi deal will never get through the US congress.

.
ras you are not understanding.
The figure is exactly what it is 305/308. Like i said could be SA or SE i never said SE Specifically. Even if you stress those F-15s C/Ds to be replaced the No1 contender for their replacement would be Typhoons. Does that ring a bell in your ears with those superior Typhoons. Most likely these F-15C/D would be upgraded minimal to be replaced by 2020+ and it does make sense.

F-5s some squadrons are being replaced with EF-2000 Typhoon please you need some serious research, rest of Tornados are buy back package by UK to supply with Typhoons.

You really don't get it what is the problem and specifically your problem with RSAF is going for an AESA radar its not about lower end AESA its about the upgrade in capabilities considerably. Saudis have upgraded those F-15s considerably over the time they will go for a better radar later on let them first familiarize with AESA.

Yes RSAF has the best in ME along with some other airforces of which iaf is the one, better then U.A.E now tell me any other airforces in ME you consider too good then RSAF let me help you (qatar?jordan?syria?Lebanon?egypt?)
in ME its israel, RSAF, U.A.E atleast i do acknowledge.

Ofcourse you have a problem with Saudis you are hell bent on proving them weak against israel only WAR will tell yes i also do acknowledge israelis are too good but you can't really thumbs down on Saudis whose trainers are Americans/Pakistanis as well. refer to my post listing of iaf and RSAF fleet both will station their airforce with majority of fleet AESA it is going to be tough. You gotta be kidding they buying something potential without standoff missiles they are not that goofies Duh!

.
what they will do of their F-15C/D will they be retired?

.
Umair..When RSAF receives their last batch of 84 F-15SA from US in the future then they will be phased out retired that is 2020 is the best time frame as many Saudi pilots would still be on F-15C/D training for the newest, these F-15s still have juice in them.

Chances of Saudi F15's going up against Israeli F35's are next to ZERO. Besides; if they do go up against each other, Americans are likely to provide the Israelis with source codes with which they will successfully jam their radars and missiles. I am not even counting IDF's superior training and tactics. These airplanes and huge inventory of missiles are aimed at Iran, not Israel. And off course it does not hurt for the Royal Family to show case these shiny new toys at military parades :D

Thats only rumors.

1) C/D are for air defence, they dont really need upgrade to SA. Armed with AMRAAMs and guided by E-3 AWACS they are extremely formidable fighters.
2) Air forces are still flying F-4, so C/D so they can remain in service for next 20 years easily. Then Saudis will recieve F-35 most probably. 2/3 of Israel's F-15 are C/D and even A/B models by the way.

Second the AESA the Saudi's are getting the APG 63 is somewhat on the lower end of the AESA's on offer from the US. Israel for instance is getting APG 81 with the F-35..it is much superior. Second Saudi Arabia is getting no stand off missiles.
How APG81 is much superrior to APG63(v)3?

Again these are only rumors.

Americans love to join their companies when take foreign technology. Thats like "McDonnel Douglas Harrier". :)

.
Are Saudi Arabia and Israel the only non US countries to fly the Eagle?

Japan, Singapore, Korea also fly Eagle. Infact Korea has just recieved brand new and most advanced Eagles produced till now named as "Slamm Eagle"

.
Americans sell Israeli technology to Saudi Arabia

Also Japan, South Korea and Singapore.

From when it happened that F-15 and Apaches are become Israelis technology.....???

Most advanced Eagle is Singaporean F-15SG, Korean lack AESA radar. Saudi F-15SA will be equal to Singaporean.

After this deal Saudis will have 154 AESA fighters (84 new + 70 upgraded). Today UAE is only nation in Middle East which has AESA fighters: 80 F-16 block 60.

Malik Usman, read my post I was talking about JHMCS.
