Saudi Arabia executes prominent Shiite Ayatollah

That is the problem my friend with some of the spiritual leaders in KSA because they are politically inclined, it is different from the religious leaders here in the United States that are not so much politically inclined, focus is on spiritual development and on the roots of Islam.

What drew me into Islam was the spiritual aspect, not the political bastardization that these so called 'leaders' play with.

A few days back, I was driving to the airport to pickup my wife, and on the way I saw a billboard by the Tehran municipality. The billboard had a picture of Kaba with thousands of pilgrims around it. And the text under the picture was "Can you find the Sunnis and Shias in this picture?"

It summed it up beautifuly. I've tried to find an image of the billboard online to post it here, but couldn't find it.

Astaghfirullah, NO, my brother. It is not something to be proud of....

Even Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) told us to take prisoner and to treat them with care.

That is how a Muslim should be, not butchers like what takfiris are doing. They insult Islam and what Islam stands for.

Like these ISIS who call themselves Muslim...

What do you now about secterian shias in the middle east?

I agree, brother, can you find a Sunni or Shia label on these our brothers and sisters ? Inshallah someday i can perform Hajj....too...

This was expected and KSA has bitten more than it can chew. The future for the region does not look positive. We are heading towards higher oil prices due to increasing tensions between two sects of the same religion. Time to calm down and talks should be initiated by third party to move away from the possible war.

Why cant people just be "muslim", why is it always shiites/shias, catholics/protestants, people are fucking retarded, one for believing in it then two for creating factions in what they believe in.

As it seems Muslims around the world from Keshmir to Lebanon have protested against this action ...

Nimr had long been regarded as the most vocal Shia leader in the eastern Saudi province of Qatif, willing to publicly criticise the ruling al-Saud family and call for elections. He was, however, careful to avoid calling for violence, analysts say.

In his time there was no Sunni - Shia just Islam ... after his departure Muslim divided into 2 sects : Shia and Sunnis ... we've got our Figh from house hold of the prophet ( pbuh) and you got from 4 Sunni Imams :

1. Imam Ahmad Bin Muhammad Hanbal
2. Imam Abu Hanifa
3. Imam Malik
4. Imam Shafi‘i‘i

We follow the same Prophet, read the same Quran , believe in the same judgment day, angels , heaven and hell as you do ....

Yeap the beginning of Islam as we know it is from the prophet Muhammad that's why we follow his teachings the prophet he himself (pbuh) ordered us to follow 2 things :

The Holy Prophet (S) said: I am leaving behind me two very weighty things for you. So long as you will remain connected with them you will never go astray after my departure and they (the two things) are heavier than one another. One of them is the Book of Allah and it is a rope which hangs from the heavens to the earth and the other is my progeny, my Ahlul Bayt (a.s.). Doubtlessly they will never be separated from one another until they come to me at the side of the pond of Kauthar in Paradise.
But you didn't answer my Qs ..
Why do you follow those Imams and base a religion around that ?while they lived decades AFTER the prophet's death ?
Why don't you say Ya Allah instead of going to doctor? are you worshiping doctors and take them your God instead of Almighty God?

Good however some Corrections,

In the prophet's time, there was only Islam = YES.
After the prophet's death, a deviance called Shia were created, based on the fights of succession.

Thus, Shia are responsible for the first divisions, and Shia are responsible for still fueling that fight for succession.

As you have pointed out, that the fight is not for the book, the angels, etc etc etc,

I wish that was true,

but unfortunately one CAN spot the shias.
they are the ones doing odd things.

Same goes for Madinah,

Try going there and you will see for yourself.

Your version of islam is isis version because everything isis do today your ancestors did in the past

When you give statements like that, try to reconcile what the Shia did to Muslims after saddam durig noori's time.

The shia death squads are what caused ISIL to form.

They just chopped the head of the same ideology...A job well done..As they say root out the Fitnah before it gets out of control,so they just did what was in their best interest...An Iranian talking about giving rights to others,Funny isn't it..First give basic rights to Sunni's in Iran then lecture others..

Forget Sunnis in Iran...first give Iranians..their basic civilian rights..then we can talk about ethnic and religious facilities..right now..an average Iranian..regardless of Shia, Sunni, Wahabi, Athiest do not have basic rights which are universally accorded by state to their citizens...Ayatollah grand mullah is now worth 90Billion USD...while his country is badly improvised..

Pakistani and Saudi shias trying to act as a champions of rights will themselves not prefer to live under Iranian theocratic dictatorship. And those who still do not agree should be given a three months paid holiday to Iran on government expense...soon they will learn their lesson...

When you give statements like that, try to reconcile what the Shia did to Muslims after saddam durig noori's time.

The shia death squads are what caused ISIL to form.

Assassin squads have always been part of Shia millitary creed..nothing new..

Now lets see some peaceful protests in Qatif yesterday.

Nimr's execution came despite an apparent attempt by Iraq's top Shia Muslim cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, who had been appealing to Saudi to swap Nimr for a Sunni political prisoner in Iraq, according to a senior sheikh in the Eastern Province area of Qatif.

Most of those executed were Sunnis convicted of their involvement in al-Qaeda attacks that killed Saudis and foreigners in the kingdom between 2003 and 2006, the ministry said.

Fares al-Shuwail, whom Saudi media outlets have described as the top religious leader of al-Qaeda in Saudi Arabia, was one of those executed. He was arrested in August 2004.

Others on the list were Shia protesters arrested between 2011 and 2013 during demonstrations in which several police officers were killed.

One of the most vocal Shia leaders in eastern Saudi, Nimr was wildly popular among the kingdom's Shia community, who make up between 10 and 15 percent of Saudi's 28 million population.

He led anti-government protests that erupted in 2011, inspired by the Arab Spring, and made speeches calling for the downfall of the al-Saud monarchy and equality for the country's Shia community - but was careful to avoid calling for violence, analysts told Reuters.

His activity led to his arrest in June 2012 after being shot and wounded by police officers.

When Nimr was sentenced to death in October 2014, consecutive days of protests were held in the Eastern Province as well as warnings from around the region, including from Hezbollah and Iran, concerned that if the ruling was upheld it would provoke discord and violence.

The interior ministry at the time described him as an "instigator of sedition" as it announced his arrest in the Shia village of Awamiya in the east after he was wounded in the leg while putting up resistance.

After the Prophet pbuh, it division into two, Shia and Sunni on the fights of succession.

so do not blame the shias.

It is not the logic that those who do not listen to yours are deviated.

Shias are more close to Prophet pbuh than others.

warmongering, murder, killings and Occupations and invasions was not done by the shiites.

Those who are invaders, war mongers, occupiers, murderers are the real culprits and criminals.

Saudi Arabia accused Iran of sponsoring terror and undermining regional stability, as a diplomatic spat between both countries escalated Saturday over the kingdom's execution of a prominent Shiite cleric.

"The Iranian regime is the last regime in the world that could accuse others of supporting terrorism, considering that (Iran) is a state that sponsors terror, and is condemned by the United Nations and many countries," said a foreign ministry spokesman in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.

The statement was the second after the kingdom's foreign ministry announced it had summoned the Iranian ambassador in Riyadh to protest an "aggressive" statement by Tehran on the execution of Saudi Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr.

"Iran's regime has no shame as it rants on human rights matters, even after it executed hundreds of Iranians last year without a clear legal basis," said the statement
