Of course no project so far in KSA let alone anywhere else in the world (as far as I am aware of and what I could read as a reaction to this project being announced), has been of this size or this ambitious.

The peace deal between Usrael and Egypt has a clause about Usrael's access to the Red sea.. this was taken into account in the design, since the bridge will be high enough to allow all ship sizes to pass..I don't know what they are crying about!


Usrael can keep dreaming.. no declared or under the table deals will happen with Usrael's government or private companies..these articles are full of wishful thinking.. it is a question of principles.. Usrael gives the right to the Palestinians to have their own state..or no deals at all..the ball is in Usrael's court..

Some projects slowed down because they are privately financed.. all government projects are progressing according to schedule..


NEOM will have its own economic policies drafted by its own Investors "government".. but the sovereignty laws will still be Saudi.. this goes beyond Dubai policies.. Neom will be to KSA what Hong Kong is to China.. like a state within a state..it is also going to be the Saudi commercial and industrial capital..

It looks like it will be a very nice project. Is there any concept art of the city yet, I cant wait to see it.

Can someone clear this up for me, it said NEOM will have ports on the Egyptian side too? I thought NEOM's territory is only on Saudi Arabia. Are those ports on the Egyptian side independent but belong to NEOM or is NEOMS territory extended across the sea.

No, you said good luck to the House of Saud as if the House of Saud (a dynasty that has ruled for less than 300 years and moreover not most of modern-day KSA for most of that amount of time) is all that Arabia, which is one of the most historical regions in the world home to some of the oldest civilizations and the second oldest recorded presence of humans, could amount to. Let alone all the numerous historical dynasties that have ruled Arabia and originated from Arabia. Just in the Islamic age alone (1300 years of Caliphate rule), 900 + years were ruled by Arabian (Hijazi) dynasties.

I have spent 30 years in Saudi and everyday it seems the house is Saud is on the verge of fall..In these thirty years we have seen Saddam, Ben Ali, Hosni Mubarak, Bin Hadi, etc all fall to disgrace.

Saudi arabia has shown amazing strength to weather all crisis and emerge stronger and more united out of them..so all I can say is, well done Saudi arabia and let me make some money out of it.

26000 km² is either a misinformation or not the scale of the actual city given that not even KSA's whole population would be able to fill such a city.
Nor would 500 billion$ be nearly enough to build it since Tokyo with a fraction of the area is producing a GDP of 1.7 trillion $ per year, let alone building a whole new city from scratch.

What i think is that the actual city will be way smaller with a surrounding area declared as a speacial zone where laws will be more liberal that rest of the country for exsample, think of it like the special economic zones (SEZ) in China or North Korea.

No concept shown yet, but it will be at the edge of modernity for sure..

Egyptian ports are Egyptian, everything will be linked by trade, and NEOM is a purely Saudi project where nearby Egyptian and Jordanian cities and areas will benefit from it too..

It is going to be like what Hong Kong is to China..The 26000 km² is the zone/area containing the project it is more than a city..
