Moscow: «Middle East Online»

Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Deputy Defense Minister, met today with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, as part of his official visit to Moscow.

In their talks, the two sides discussed ways to enhance military and defense cooperation, the joint endeavor to maintain security and stability in the region, and the most prominent common challenges facing the two countries.

On the other hand, the Saudi Deputy Defense Minister and his Russian counterpart, Lieutenant-General Alexander Fomin, signed an agreement to develop areas of joint military cooperation between the two countries.

Prince Khalid bin Salman had arrived in Russia earlier to participate in the International Military-Technical Forum "ARMY 2021", which was launched on Monday in Kubinka, Moscow region.

He was received upon his arrival in Moscow by Deputy Director of International Relations at the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-General Alexei Lepalin Analutovich and a number of officials.

It is a wonderful agreement in terms of win-win benefits. And It is certain that this agreement was signed only after the Russians agreed to the Saudi terms of technology transfers.

"We aim for a progressive development of cooperation in military and military-technical fields on the entire spectrum of issues that pose mutual interest," Shoigu said during the meeting with Salman.

In this context, the American magazine (Forbes) published a report titled “Russia uses defense exhibitions to try to boost arms sales in the Middle East.”

Russia's ambitions to increase arms sales and bolster its defense ties with governments in the broader region were made clear this week at a major defense fair in Moscow.

At the level of the participating countries, the magazine explained that the Saudi delegation was one of several Gulf delegations that visited the international military-technical forum in the Russian capital, stopping at the presence of Bahraini Defense Minister Lieutenant-General Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Nuaimi, who held talks with First Deputy Defense Minister Tsalikov Ruslan.

The American magazine also drew attention to the participation of a delegation from the UAE headed by Major General Dr. Mubarak Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri, Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Defense Industries.

The magazine also talked about the keenness of Saudi Arabia and the UAE to develop their local military industries, "which represents another potential opportunity for Moscow," noting that Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin told Al-Jabri, during the forum's activities in Moscow, that Russia was “ready not only to supply equipment and weapons, but also to share technologies [and] to localize production” in the UAE.

In 2017, the UAE and Russia announced they would jointly develop a fifth-generation light combat fighter, in a partnership between Russian defense firm Rostec and the UAE Ministry of Defense. Little more was heard about the project until mid-July this year, when images emerged of the Sukhoi LTS Checkmate stealth fighter.

A US State Department official warns Saudi Arabia against dealing with the Russian defense sector so that it is not subject to sanctions

The usual KSA's response:

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirms its total rejection of any threats and attempts to undermine it, whether by threatening to impose economic sanctions, or using political pressures, which will not affect the Kingdom and its established positions and its Arab, Islamic, and international standing, and the fate of these feeble endeavors, like their predecessors, is demise ..

This American statement didn't come from thin air. There is concern about Russian-Saudi defense cooperation and it seems that it will be cooperation on a heavy level..

In the end, diversifying the sources of armament is very important..

.
AND ..... once upon time TRUMP had said your regime cant stand 2 weeks without US support, They will divide saudi into 3 pieces, you need to be more carefully

.
This warning came to feel the pulse and did not come from futility. It seems that Saudi Arabia is continuing with heavy defense cooperation with Russia, and in the future we may see heavier cooperation with China..

The pariah countries and their camp are known... Saudi Arabia made deals with China and was threatened by America, and the American ambassador was expelled because of this ostracized behavior by the USA..

.
Saudi King transferred his whole wealth to US as pledge, it is said 700-800 billion USD, so they gave him a little bit independence .
