What's new

Saraiki-majority region is a province: Asfandyar

karachi should not be made province.
-it should not be handed over to one party.
-becoming a province it will always blackmails the centre.
-easier to pressurize the country by controlling the karachi.
-economic development may only be limited to karachi hence otherds ignored.
-creates a new political instability in the city b/c then every party wants power in any cost.
-federation becomes weak.
-increasing interference of international powers in Karachi.

Without Karachi, Sindh Province will become nothing but a big mudhouse. No offense to people from Sindh Province but the economy of Sindh relies heavily on Karachi unless you make proper use out of your Thar Coal reserves.

Well if Karachi was excluded from Sindh then it would focus more of the attention on places like Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkar,Hala etc which desperately need attention because they have been neglected.

I think Hyderabad and Sukkur have potential. Plus there's another city being built on the coast of eastern Sindh called Zulfiqarabad. And no there are no mudhouses in Sindh. Majority of the cities are just like the ones you'd find in Punjab or KP.

You would think we would see more development in Sindh Province now that the President of Pakistan is originally but from Sindh province, but it looks like an entirely different country when you compare it to Karachi.

How will the economy of Sindh sustain itself without Karachi. The only way is if they exploit their coal reserves in Thar, and the Government of Pakistan is not even serious about that.

As of now Sindh relies heavily on Karachi.

This Government of Zardari is not interested in develping the country. Zardari himself is from Sindh and when you compare Karachi to rest of Sindh it looks like a different country. Why? Because only the former mayor of Karachi, Mustafa Kamal, was interested in developing Karachi same with Punjab only the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, is interested in developing Punjab.

Break as many provinces as you want, once you elect thieves like Zardari the new provinces will be as backwards as ever.

You need intelligent patriotic people to run the country who care about developing the country like Shahbaz Sharif and Mustafa Kamal. That is the only way we will get development in Pakistan.

.
Lol are you serious?

The land has been allocated and some of the statements from Zardari look like he's actually serious about it. He's currently asking Chinese and Turkish companies to invest in Zulfiqarabad. The city is going to be in the Thatta District region.

By the end of Zardari's term I'm sure all the Bhutto's will have a city named after them in Sindh.

Anyways I wish the city well!

Shahbaz for timely completion of uplift projects

* Punjab CM says he would review pace of work every three weeks

* Officials of top three performing districts to be honoured

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday stressed the timely completion of development projects, saying that all resources should be utilised to achieve the targets.

Addressing a meeting held to review the pace of implementation of the annual development programme, special packages for big cities and mega development projects in south Punjab at the CM Secretariat, he directed the divisional commissioners, district coordination officers and the departments concerned to spare no effort for this purpose.

The chief minister (CM) said that he would review the pace of progress on development projects every three weeks and the chief secretary every 10 days. He said the administration and the relevant departments of the top three districts in terms of performance - to be evaluated on the basis of transparency, quality and timely completion of projects - would be honoured at a special ceremony, and he directed the chief secretary to evolve a course of action in this regard.

Shahbaz said the Punjab government was utilising all available resources to ensure rapid development of the province and provide basic amenities to the masses. He said that transparent and timely completion of all development projects was also being ensured. Special attention was being paid to the development of backward areas and the development work carried out during the last two and a half years in south Punjab was unprecedented, he added.

Danish Schools have been opened for students in Bahawalpur division in the first phase while more schools are being set up in other less-developed areas, including DG Khan, Rajanpur, Attock and Mianwali, in the second phase of the project, he said, adding that the districts with a dire need of educational institutes have been given priority in the selection process.

The CM expressed his satisfaction over the pace of work and the ratio of funds’ utilisation in development projects. Pointing out that some two and a half months were left of the current financial year, he directed for further acceleration in the pace of work on development projects to ensure their on time completion.

Punjab Chief Secretary Nasir Mehmood Khosa informed the meeting about the progress of development projects in the province. Planning and Development Department Chairman Javed Aslam, while giving details of the implementation on development programmes, said that the pace of work and the level of utilisation of funds in the province was satisfactory. He said that 110 projects out of 146 projects in south Punjab had been awarded while the remaining projects would be awarded soon in a transparent manner. He also gave details about the release of funds and pace of work of various mega development projects.

Senator Ishaq Dar, Senior Adviser to the CM Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, provincial ministers Nadeem Kamran Malik and Iqbal Channar, MPAs Tehmina Daultana, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, finance secretary and secretaries of departments concerned also attended the meeting. app

I met an ANP supporter from KPK and they are more concerned with the name spelling of that name rather than education terrorism etc. :) If u have seen latest hum sab umid say hain, it shows a character call Divertor which government uses to divert attention from real issues
