Saragarhi Day (12 September 1897)

.
Actually as a punjabi he is proud of this achievement of sikhs over pashtuns. He tagged pashtun members in a taunting way that look sikhs humiliated pashtuns big time.

ok........

by the way this battle finds way into top 8 in best last stands of all time by unesco

Sikhs are bullshit liars.

sure

1)even uk is
2)order of merit is a piece of **** too
3)unesco is a jewish or hindu agency too

:omghaha:

.
It is a well documented account,,,,,as usual u refuse to believe anything

How could that gurmakh singh count enemies? they were most probably in hundreds so to glorify themeselves and to impress their british officers they hugely exaggerated the numbers. British accepted the account of gurmakh singh without verifying it as it could be used to boost morale of troops.

Details of the Battle of Saragarhi are considered fairly accurate, due to Gurmukh Singh signalling events to Fort Lockhart as they occurred.
  • Around 9:00am, around 10,000 Afghans reach the signaling post at Saragarhi.
  • Sardar Gurmukh Singh signals to Col. Haughton, situated in Fort Lockhart, that they are under attack.
  • Colonel Haughton states he cannot send immediate help to Saragarhi.
  • The soldiers decide to fight to the last to prevent the enemy from reaching the forts.
  • Bhagwan Singh becomes the first injured and Lal Singh is seriously wounded.
  • Soldiers Lal Singh and Jiwa Singh reportedly carry the dead body of Bhagwan Singh back to the inner layer of the post.
  • The enemy breaks a portion of the wall of the picket.
  • Colonel Haughton signals that he has estimated between 10,000 and 14,000 Pashtuns attacking Saragarhi.
  • The leaders of the Afghan forces reportedly make promises to the soldiers to entice them to surrender.
  • Reportedly two determined attempts are made to rush open the gate, but are unsuccessful.
  • Later, the wall is breached.
  • Thereafter, some of the fiercest hand-to-hand fighting occurs.
  • In an act of outstanding bravery, Ishar Singh orders his men to fall back into the inner layer, whilst he remains to fight. However, this is breached and all but one of the defending soldiers are killed, along with many of the Pashtuns.
  • Gurmukh Singh, who communicated the battle with Col. Haughton, was the last Sikh defender. He is stated to have killed 20 Afghans, the Pashtuns having to set fire to the post to kill him. As he was dying he was said to have yelled repeatedly the Sikh battle-cry "Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal" (Victory belongs to those who recite the name of God with a true heart).

Sikhs are brave without doubt.

One doesn't have to look far to see why your society is so divided- do they?

YOU'RE ALL PAKISTANI.

no one should bring religion in these matters

we have ppl like abdul hamid too and all indians irrespective of religion salutes him

"Havildar Abdul Hamid (July 1, 1933 – September 10, 1965) was a soldier in the 4th Battalion, The Grenadiers of the Indian Army, who died in the Khem Karan sector during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, and was the posthumous recipient of the Republic of India's highest military decoration, the Param Vir Chakra."

. .
according to pashtun accounts some 700 pashtun tribals attacked the fort, they failed and lost about 180 men. The fort was on top of hill and they were climbing from below thats why the failure and casaulties.

and who wrote the pashtun accounts??

you?

even then 180 is a very good number irrespective of the nature of battle by 21 men

That's what I'm saying, Pakistanis shouldn't see everything through the prism of religion/sectarian affiliation.

Mercifully Indians have been spared this affliction.

Either way you cut it- a HUGE force was defeated by a minuscule number of warriors.

To not respect the actions of such men is pathetic.

.
another piece on ppl whom u consider liars

"The 1st Sikh battalion, in 1979 was the British Commonwealth's most decorated battalion (245 pre-independence and 82 post-independence gallantry awards), when it was transformed into the 4th mechanized infantry.[7]"

And i would request all muslim brothers from across the border to be proud as there was a time when we were all same and had same blood running in our veins

So is your mullah.

Actually after the Saragarhi fort was attacked the Pashtuns advanced onto a British held fort. They where able to get a good and accurate account.
