Sania Mirza to marry Shoaib Malik?

I don't see how confiscating his passport will help. Shoaib is not running away, for the fact he has to come back for Sania again.

The problem is, that i saw on TV, that Shoaib says its not his signature on the Nikkah and they are forged. Who knows what is going on there, but siddiqis are going a bit too far with this.

Should we take Shoaib Malik for his word against Siddiqui and co's words.... Just like that, because he said so...

Is that how you conduct cases in Pakistan, If a celebrity is involved be lenient??

Law is same for all, It won't be altered for THE SHOAIB MALIK.. If he is right, passport will be returned, No one is sticking him in Jail, and if you have a problem with even questioning, I think there again he'll face the same problems:

As I pointed out earlier internet marriage frauds are not uncommon. Perhaps the marriage did take place but Shoaib changed his mind as he grew up (he was only 18 - she was 25). Shoaib may be wrong in this case, but does not deserve jail.

Who wants him in Jail ? What can anyone do about Ayesha's allegations ? She is not India.

Neither they married in India or their marriage registered in India. Why doesn't the institution in Sialkot where Nikah was registered declare marriage null and void ?

According to the credible sources, Indian intelligence agencies and media failed to blame ISI for Shoaib – Sania Marriage. But even then RAW didn’t spare Shoaib; His passport has been confiscated by the local police on the agency’s direction. The intelligence agency is fully determined to sabotage stars’ marriage. Indian comrades are requested to pressurize their government to facilitate their marriage.

:victory:
Agar RAW shaadi rukwa rahi hai toh kya ISI shaadi karwa rahi hai? :D

No yaar I say its something even worse than that. This thing has shown that the collective Indian mindset is working against the marriage because their egos have been bruised, so much so that they are aiding and abetting the Siddiquis into screwing up their marriage.

Their male chauvinism just won't let them accept that an Indian girl who was known as India's heartbeat - her heart now beats for a Pakistani. Recall that in all their movies the chick is always a Pakistani falling in love with an Indian and quitting Pakistan.

Its a mess of a conflict of fiction and fact. Desire and reality.

Indictments in the US require evidence, upon which a judge issues arrest warrants. A judge places travel restrictions. Shoaib should have asked for a warrant seizing his passport.

Isn't the same followed in India ? Ayesha has provided evidence. Police register the case based on womens allegations as the legislation is pro-women. The travel documents viz the passport is seized.

Actually the accusers are the Siddiquis, until a court says otherwise Shoaib's word is good enough. The burden, the onus of proving things falls upon the Siddiquis.

Shoaib Malik’s ban can be lifted soon: PCB

New Delhi: Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik’s cricket ban could be lifted soon, as per PCB’s latest news. He was recently banned for a year by the apex body which seems to be handing him out a marriage gift by telling him to don the nation’s colours again, reports suggested.

Things have been turbulent for the cricketer as reports suggested that he would go for an anticipatory bail as he would be questioned again on Tuesday. This came after Ayesha told the police that she had evidence of her pregnancy.

The police on Monday had grilled Malik in the wake of criminal cases lodged against him by the father of Ayesha, the Hyderabad girl who claims to be his wife.

A police team led by an assistant commissioner of police (ACP) quizzed 28-year-old Shoaib for close to two hours at the residence of tennis star 23-year-old Sania Mirza, to whom he is scheduled to get married on April 15.

The Hyderabad Police have recorded the ace cricketer’s statement and have also impounded his passport. He has also been asked not to leave Hyderabad city limits till the investigations are on.

I wonder from where are the Siddiquis finding the 4,000,000 Pak rupees that Barrister Farooq Hasan is charging them? Going by what some TV guys were saying he normally charges for smaller cases.

Hiring an ace lawyer in Pakistan is no small thing.

India and Indians are not a group of herded sheep, all heading i the same direction. It is not a matter on which a state policy has been declared. There were atleast mens right activist supporting him - last checked.

Male Chauvinism is the reality of this subcontinent, apparent in the attitude of Pakistanis as well in the beginning of this thread. I know you know the facts, just trying to ignore them to create an Anti India feel out of it.

Cant wish you luck with that attitude.

Only wild allegations without substance. GOI cannot intervene in personal cases.

Like Adnan Sami and his estranged wife Sabah are fighting for Divorce in India. Adnan Sami's Passport is seized by police hence he could not travel to Germany to get married for 3rd time.

Depends on what the accusations are, in some cases arrest is the first step, specially when women's rights are under question. As explained earlier, these were drawn not just to sue Shoaib, but existing since ages. You may disagree with them, but they are a reality. As explained earlier, they were designed to protect regular womens, as women do not generally accuse husbands, unless there is a major cause.

If a case is registered, procedure will be followed. Rest assured, if all izz well with Shoaib's statement, no harm will be done.

From where did they get money - They are a very well to do family of Hyderabad, with one foot stuck in Dubai. I dont think money is even the cause of dispute, just publicity.

Probably the girl family is rich but why don't Pakistanis bash up the lawyer for taking up her case in first place?

Absolutely that's the reason I was getting pissed off with Asim's comments. I took pains to clarify many members apprehensions. State has nothing to do with such cases.

But Police seems to be helping Shoaib by not arresting him yet to avoid further controversies. They confiscated his passport to prevent him from leaving the country until a decision is made.

Y he should be arrested, Y not miss Maha\Ayesha....who never come on Media.

This is what foxes many I doubt anybody else would have sign Nikahnama to just preserve Girls reputation. Just try to imagine with yourself in Shoaibs boots for a moment.

an he was 18 at that time.....he talked to a Miss Ayesha on phone on regular baisis (who was infact Maha Appa)......
She send her photos of Ayesha,
Malik Send a sned Marriage certificate , trusting her and Miss Maha Appa signed

Now Y u people dont believe Yesterday press conference of Sania and Malik.

Sania family also knows Siddiqi famil, they know wt happend
And how can they giver her daughters hand in the hand of fraud person (as per u said).

Its the phychology of most the Indians tht Pakistanies are always bad. Thats the wongconcept of ur meda. Its not the fault of Malik.

Come up with+ve mind.

Shoaib's side of the story: First and exclusive face to face interview on the matter.

I never met Ayesha. Sania will be my 1st wife: Shoaib Malik - Sania-Shoaib wedding - Events & Tournaments - Sports - The Times of India

Former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik flew into Hyderabad early on Saturday morning for his impending wedding to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. But instead of pre-nuptial niceties, the prospective groom was greeted by allegations that he was already married to someone else.

The shy Shoaib was shocked to learn that the Siddiqui family and their daughter Maha (also known as Ayesha) had taken an already-resolved issue to television channels on Friday.

"I thought we had sorted it out when we had sent a legal notice to M A Siddiqui two years ago," he said as preparations for his wedding begin. He spoke to The Times of India in the first and exclusive face-to-face interview to present his side of the story. Excerpts:

When did you meet Ayesha Siddiqui for the first time?
This relationship started on the telephone, in the year 2001. I was in Sharjah at that time, with the Pakistan cricket team. She telephoned me, introduced herself as Ayesha, and told me that she was a fan of mine, who lived in Saudi Arabia. That's how we got talking.

When then did you meet Ayesha Siddiqui?
As we started talking more and more, Ayesha sent me some photographs, which she said were of herself. I haven't met the girl in the photographs, not to this day.

Can you explain that?
When I returned to Pakistan after the Sharjah tournament, I showed my parents the photographs Ayesha had sent me. I told them that I liked this girl. We spoke every single day. I kept pushing her to meet me, but she resisted it. She said we'll meet at our shaadi.

Who is the girl in the photographs?
I thought it was Ayesha Siddiqui, the girl I was talking to. But now I honestly don't know.

You were talking every day to a girl you were interested in, didn't you want to meet her?
Of course I did. In 2002, I can't remember the exact date, I came to Hyderabad with the sole intention of meeting Ayesha. Just before I left Pakistan, she called me and told me she had to rush to Saudi Arabia on urgent work. She told me that her cousins, Reema and Maha apa (meaning older sister) would take me around. I then asked her cousins and parents where she was, and they said that in the last year she had put on a lot of weight, because of which she didn't want to meet me. I told them that I had photographs of her, and that she looked fine. But they said the photographs were of a year ago. A year or so later, I travelled to Hyderabad. Again, I was met by Reema and Maha apa. Ayesha gave me the same excuse, saying she hadn't lost the weight she had put on, because of which she didn't want to meet me.

What was your reaction?
I wanted to support her. I wanted to understand her situation.

Were you alright with not meeting her?
Before Pakistan's tour of India (2005), I told my brother-in-law that we should visit India, meet the girl and formalise the relationship. My brother-in-law Imran Zaffer had to come to New Delhi on work. He called Ayesha and told her he would be coming to Hyderabad. The day before he was to come here, she called and told him that she had to leave to the United States on urgent work. My brother-in-law wasn't very happy, but since his tickets were already booked he came to Hyderabad. She had told him she would leave her cell phone with her cousin Maha. Then, I got here for the Tour. In a game in Hyderabad, the day before the Pakistan cricket team was invited to the Siddiquis house for dinner, I won the man of the match. When I collected the award, I said that it is good that this happened in my wife's city.

When did you get married?
This episode happened in 2002. Ayesha wanted us to get married. While I definitely wanted to marry her, I didn't want to rush into it. For one, I hadn't met her. She suggested that we could do a telephone nikah right away. There was no way I could tell my parents about a telephone nikah, because it's not the way they wanted me to get married. I was just 20 then, and under a lot of pressure from Ayesha to get married as she was saying that her family was losing face in Hyderabad as word had got around that we were courting. I walked out of my house one morning in June 2002, and went to my friend's shop and called from there. I got a nikahnama, signed it, thinking the girl I was marrying was the one in the photographs.

In Muslim law, this arrangement doesn't work no matter what paper may or may not be there simply because, when the proposal was made, the image in my head was the girl in the photographs, but the girl, who was accepting the proposal was someone else. That's cheating.

You got married in 2002, which means you were just 20. It is below the legal marriageable age in India...
In Pakistan its 18. Still, I wasn't ready for marriage at that point. The Siddiquis had a reception for the Pakistan team, before that game in Hyderabad... It was a dinner. Once again, I went there hoping to meet her, but they said the same thing. It was very frustrating. A few players even asked Siddiqui saab, why she wasn't there. I was taken for a ride.

Did you not suspect that there was something wrong?
There are two things, foremost is the fact that I wanted this relationship to work, and secondly, I was around 20 when this happened. I was really young. Looking back, there were a few questions at the back of my mind. The more I met Maha apa, the way she spoke, particularly her accent, I thought it was similar to the girl on the phone, but I put it down to my mind working over time.

When did you discover that the girl in the photograph and the girl you were speaking to were two different people?
Some time in August 2005, when I was in Pakistan, my brother-in-law told me that his nephews, who were in Saudi had a teacher called Maha Siddiqui, who was telling everyone she was the Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik's wife. He showed me a photograph of the teacher and I was shocked to see it was Maha apa.

I called Ayesha immediately and told her I know the truth. I was enraged. I told her I was going to release the photographs she had mailed me. She apologised and told me that the other girl was married and that I would ruin her life if I released those pictures. I thought about it, whosoever photographs these are, probably doesn't even know about all this, and it wouldn't be fair to release those pictures.

Do you think your story is believable?
It is the truth as I lived it. My mistake is my innocence. Part of me is really, really angry, for what I have put my family and my (to be) in-laws, they have all been so sweet and supportive. I want to say this one thing, this is my first marriage.
