Well it is not Iran that considers itself first world. Americans are the ones who call us 3rd world and at the same time their streets and Metro stations are full of homeless people.

NYC's subways are legitimately the worst. And I'm happy about it - I want americuckwans to suffer as much as possible.

Why these people dont do decent work and earn modest amount of money that atleast covers there basic needs.
I dont know a single Pakistani who moved to USA and could not find any work and have to remain homeless.
Even working at A local store (Not much skilled work) earns them modest income.

Homelessness is not usually a sole financial issue; it has to do with social economic and mental problems. People can only be help if they wanted to be help themselves, you cannot force help to anyone, ask any Swede and they will tell you that much.

This also isn't just an American issue, this happened to Welfare State even in Australia or aforementioned Sweden and Nordic Country. Both countries tackle homeless problem with finaincial aid didn't really generate good result. Australian government offered rental assistance and also pay a hefty social security (around $1000 a month per person) while Sweden assign social housing to the homeless population. But that's just it, unless you can limit people how to spend the social security in Australia, these people will rather uses that $1000 and use it on booze and drug rather than find a nice and warm place to live. On the other hand, unless you lock those homeless people in those social housing, they can simply just leave.

By the way, the term "Hispanic" is used when a person from South America (or just about anywhere, INCLUDING SPAIN) who speak Spanish or related to the Spanish Culture. That is the exact definition, which mean even I am considered Hispanic, being Hispanic is NOT a racial feature....

Went for my friend's wedding there 6 years ago and made the mistake of staying downtown for convenience. Can't leave the hotel without some panhandler asking you for spare change and the street smelled like urine. I heard it's only gotten worse now.

Avoid Tenderloin and Union Square at all cost if you ever have the misfortune of visiting.
