don't do something, is harm to him, you are safe.

dialects in German (BRD) is different from "dialect" of chinese in China when you are fully, don't understand mutually by daily communicate.

The High German and Low German are also mutually unintelligible.

Varieties of German: High vs. Low, Dialects and Standard German

BTW, i can understand 30-50% of the standard Cantonese if listening it carefully, while I cannot understand a single word about Vietnamese, because Vietnamese is simply a completely different language.

how about shanghai people language ? we have been discussed.

Its reported that The Shanghainese, on the other hand, speak a "dialect" that could easily be classified as a separate ( or related) language.

Shanghainese/Cantonese/Mandarin belong to 3 separate blocks within the Sinic language family.

However, Vietnamese doesn't even belong to the Sinic language family, so you are not related to the South Chinese.

You are right,

Shanghainese/Cantonese/Mandarin belong to 3 separate blocks within the Sinic language family like people in Europa speak Germany language family:they are most similar to German include Luxenbourgish, Dutch (Holland) English and the Scandinavian languages.

Vietnamese belong to Mon/Khmer language family, speaking by Cambodian, Mon in Myanma (Muong) Khmu (in Loas) ...

Was last there about a year ago. One needs a pair of good walking shoes in that mall. I'm almost sure it's still the biggest mall on the east coast. (could be wrong though)

One of my lol memories going there was looking around in Neiman Marcus. Saw some cool hats and was looking through them. Noticed that the cheapest one was like $80. I thought "yep, I'm in the wrong store" I like the Eddie Bauer store there.

been a few years since my last visit to Cherry Hill Mall. Good atmosphere (is that a word to even describe a mall haha) Some nice shops there from what I remember. They have a really nice Macy's.

been to the Deptford Mall too, but were talking early teen years since I was last there.

I say Water :woot:

for 100,000 times, yes, there is hochdeutsch, but there isn´t niederdeutsch! low german or whatever you call it, doesn´t exist. there are hundred different german dialects such as hessisch, bayerisch, kölnisch, sächsisch and so on. all are spoken by locals, and hardly understood by common germans.
BTW, i can understand 30-50% of the standard Cantonese if listening it carefully, while I cannot understand a single word about Vietnamese, because Vietnamese is simply a completely different language.
because we speak the same words in different tones as you.

dialects in German (BRD) is different from "dialect" of chinese in China when you don't understand mutually by normal communication.
you don´t get it. a german in cologne can hardly understand a german in leipzig if they speak in their local dialects. no, they don´t understand each other at all.

I learnt German in Dresden, I went to Leipzig so I can understand what people is talking about, if they don't speak the "Umgang Sprache".

do you understand what I said to Chinesetiger1986 ? dielect in German is different from dialect in China. In German TV program no need to insert the subtitle (like in China), bro. Genarally, BRD citizens can understand what TV annoucer is talking about, just don't speak same words from umgang into it.
