Salwa Derwent (recently accepted Islam) Reciting Hamd in Urdu

If it has effected you then it has done so in a personal spiritual capacity. These issues can then be further explored on a religious/spiritual forum, or in your own personal capacity.

Defence.pk is not a religious forum, and we do not want it to be used as a tool for propagating a particular faith.

So much for Pakistan's Dark days huh ?

Just spoken to an Aussie Pilot flying with Emrites who Rejected to fly to Islamabad (He didn't knew about my Nationality) Should i explain how did i feel ;)

Converting to Islam is not a rare occureance , I myself have seen many but yes it is a big thing For Pakistan in these kind of days when we have been tagged as a "No go state" yet she had the courage to..... I think we should appriciate it.

Thanks:pakistan:

Come on Sir, Delete last 10 posts beggining from your first post and let everybody enjoy peaceful life.

If you ever come to UK i would love you to meet with somebody whose all generations were christians and he is the sole Muslim from his family. Come and meet with him and then tell me how much important it is for him to be a Muslim.

This thread may have not have values for you but it is very important for the common peoples of Pakistan. You would have refrained to reply or just closed it instead. Buri baat kehne se chup rahna zayada behtar hota hai naa?

Seriously i wasn't expecting such comments from you

There are people from other faiths converting to Islam on daily basis, but when a celebrity or a personality adopts the same, it makes head line news. Neil Armstrong, Cat Stevens or Mike Tyson to name a few.
In recent times, Islam has had it's fair share of being the punch bag, hence such news indeed conveys some positivity towards the cause and sends out a clear message that despite all the upheaval and portrayal of negativity, people are still attracted to the beliefs of Islam and see it as their virtual path to destiny.

This thread is not all about Religion.
Your title indicates otherwise. If your goal was to merely highlight the naat, then the title can be changed to one in which people can post various naats.
This woman is wearing Pakistani clothes, reciting in the national language of Pakistan.
Then you should have focussed on those issues from the get go.

Respect Pakistani culture and traditions.
How about we start with respecting ALL Pakistanis, those who wish to dance in the streets and those who wish to sing naats in their homes?
By the way, Islam is a major part of Pakistan. Let me remind you the reason for why there is a Pakistan today. If there was no Islam in the region of Pakistan, there would be no Pakistan today.

:pakistan:
Islam is a major part of the identity of Pakistan, but it is not the only part. The identity and history of the people of Pakistan goes beyond Islam, by several thousand years.

No one is taking Islam away, but to brag about 'conversions to Islam' is spitting in the face of all those Pakistani who do not call themselves Muslims, or are denied the right to call themselves Muslims.

What 'jhoot'? The only one I see is that of people trying to wiggle around the fact that the title very clearly attempts to glorify the conversion of an individual to Islam.

If this is just about sharing Naat's then I can adjust the title to reflect that, but no posts are being deleted since I stand by what I said.

Serious as Shoaib Malik buddy,

Apparently the story goes that When Neil Armstrong was walking on the surface of the Moon, he heard Azaan in his headset but couldn't make anything of it, however some times later while on a visit to Egypt, he heard the Azaan being called on the speakers and inquired as to what it was. After being enlightened, he disclosed his own secret and adopted Islam.

I think its still a secret as there is no credible source apart from him participating in Islamic activities in Jakarta.

The problem with dragging in faith is that then all faiths should be allowed to be represented, and you probably know very well that there are some pretty inflammatory videos out there of Muslims converting to some other faith.

We really do not want tit for tat threads on that issue here.

By the way, I have nothing against a thread showing videos of people reciting Naat's, but the thread and video title in this case place an emphasis on the fact that the woman converted TO Islam.

My Dear Agno,

If some people want to post those video of muslims converting to other faiths, by God i will be more than happy to see the facts, that what those souls led to those decisions. And in that case all muslims or members should have healthy digesitive system to consume, where it will show the mirror ,weaknesses, or dissatisfaction in our society or faith. You know better, the role of criticism...

And in that case if woman convert to islam and the title also showing that, then take it as great message to the world that despite having much problems, our faith has the capacity to accomodate unsatisfied souls.

Your presumption regarding inverse relation of faith and investment seems to me fail when i see load of companies investing in Saudi or other muslim countries. And i hope you will not consider this conversion as a disturbing balance to our already prevailing situation.

Regards.

Yaar, it was big news at one time, he even stood in the US elections, but after the change of faith, he wasn't very popular in his territory.

If one believes that his religion is supreme (all religious people do), then it does not require proving that every famous, intelligent guy has changed faith to his religion.

The story of Neil Armstrong hearing an "azaan" is just another stupid myth cum conspiracy theory that goes deep into popular Pakistani and Muslim narrative. I've even heard from people claiming to have as usual heard from somebodye else that Neil Armstrong was languishing in jail because he cannot be allowed to come outside for he'll spill the beans on The Great Moon Hoax Theory.

Why do you feel the need to assert that everybody has become a Muslim?

Dear Mr. Parshall:

Mr. Armstrong has asked me to reply to your letter and
to thank you for the courtesy of your inquiry.

The reports of his conversion to Islam and of hearing
the voice of Adzan on the moon and elsewhere are all
untrue.

Several publications in Malaysia, Indonesia and other
countries have published these reports without verifi-
cation. We apologize for any inconvenience that this
incompetent journalism may have caused you.

Subsequently, Mr. Armstrong agreed to participate in a
telephone interview, reiterating his reaction to these
stories. I am enclosing copies of the United States
State Department's communications prior to and after
that interview.

Sincerely

Vivian White
Administrative Aide

Yaar, it was big news at one time, he even stood in the US elections, but after the change of faith, he wasn't very popular in his territory.

The usual method. When told something is a myth/hoax/conspiracy theory, deny it with another one and/or claim that it is being suppressed.

Armstrong has never stood up for public ever. Never.

These stories were reported across Pakistan, Malaysia, Egypt and the Middle East and depict the level of intellect that is assumed of the common reader.

Windjammer, I always accepted that you were a wise person. I'm hoping you'll search on myths before you claim anything next time.

In Nazi camps there was an old Jewish man who had a broken transister radio which didn't work.

He pretended to have been listening to the Radio at Nighs untill all detainies started to believe that he listens to the news through his Secret device & he used to tell them the False stories of nazis being defeated and they would be released soon.

He kept the courage up untill the Nazis were defeated in reall , That was hope..
If you are thinking that what it has got to do with the thread then let me tell you we Pakistanis are going through the Most darkest age we have known yet in all forms.

There is no hope and we are surrounded by the Enimies , but one small firebug is enough to defeat it & this is what should we look for , anything carrying a positive charge must be kept safe..

This video is a delicate spark but it is one of those positive things .
