Safran's M88 engine produces 50KN of dry thrust and 75 kN with afterburners. One of the current issue with Kaveri is it's inability to generate the required thrust. If Safran helps GTRE in fixing these and make necessary modifications, it can be integrated onto the Rafales as well. The proposal is primarily aimed at reduction on the dependency of American GE engines and develop variants of Kaveri which can be used for LCA, MWF and AMCA
