Sadiq Khan 'set to win London mayoral race'

Hinduguy

I dont think Livingstone has been sober enough for anti-semitism. He did avoid a vital element. Hitler and the Nazis did debate moving Jews elsewhere, including the middle east, but wherever they were sent, the prime motive was to rid Germany of Jews. That is anti-semitic. We all now know where they ended up....

As for Livingstone developing London, I didnt see much. Now we are in a different regime. I'm all for a good Mayor or London, let Khan prove his worth.

Dr Gupta

The London skyline was determined by the vast profits of the London banks. Good thing for London I will admit. Got a lot better with Johnson.

As for transport in London, its hard to say. The expansion of London transport is huge, because it has to be, but whether or not this is due to the mayor is debatable. I think that the influence of the mayor is limited to union activity and its effects rather than infrastructure. If Khan can control the unions and not let London transport get into a mire then he has my support.

All in all, Khan has to perform, otherwise its the boot.

I do not doubt Khan has the right character but will he be allowed to? the housing developing nexus are in bed with the political elite (Property were sold in China before even being marketed in London). He wants to build more affordable homes but can he achieve it? let's see... the good thing is that at least he is not going to increase the travel oyster fares (he promised this to us) he has to keep his word now.

It is significant mate. Firstly British Indians are very political and have amongst the highest turnouts for any of the minorities. The community is over half a million people, and that is a big voter pool.

Waz the young generation do not care much though these days, I asked several people if they voted not many did.

Seriously now....speaking about reverse racism, why haven't I met a non Indian dude employee in a Nissa store ?

Lol, who works there usually?

It depends on the age. Most folks from the mid 20's did vote, and combine that with the elders, it had an impact. I would agree with you that the young are disillusioned with politics.

Sri Lankans/Tamil people have cornered the KFC, Petrol station markets

I think they moving into Nissa now :woot:

One time it was Indian people who had newsagents but now... you will find Polski stores/Turkish shops which stay open much later.

Obviously Indians

Dude I've seen Bulgarians, Poles etc employed at Bestway Cash and Carry, that counts. My mate (British Pakistani) who owns his own construction firm exclusively employs EE workers. I'm always fighting with him regarding the EU referendum. :p:

Labour's Sadiq Khan was pictured arriving at City Hall for the declaration of the winner of the contest to become the next mayor of London. He is expected to win the race.

Tottenham?? of all areas? lol used to be rough as hell in the 90's Jamaican turf but these days go up the road you reach Haringey which is predominately Turkish/Kurdish or Stamford hill is like little Israel.

I advise you all do not go to harlesden though that is the most dangerous area I have stepped foot in at night.

I'm a firm outer. I'm a part of the Vote Leave campaign and I campaign on the streets of central London quite regularly, mostly in and around Waterloo.

Makes 2 of us but what if we need a freaking visa to travel to EU? lol we shooting ourselves in the foot?

Right, morons like that need to stfu. The EE folks have made such areas civilised. I prefer them any day over the wondrous imports that inhabit those areas.

i thought the whole thing is a joke... but seems 'no' campaign is gathering momentum... people are serious about sovereignty... thats the only thing which seems to hurt sentiments.

Dude, my father took me around the whole of Europe when I was 9, back in the mid 80's. Many times we were just waved through, that's the power of the British passport.
