India's 7-wicket win in Bangalore gave them their first ever clean sweep over Australia in a Test series.

Sachin Tendulkar aggregated 403 runs in the 4 innings that he played and was adjudged the 'Man of the Match' and 'Man of the Series' for his stupendous performance.

"The series was fantastic. Firstly congratulations to the home team and specially Laxman and Ishant for securing the 1st Test win in Mohali, without which, things would have been different here", Tendulkar said while accepting the awards.

He congratulated the entire team for their contribution, "In this match, Zaheer, Vijay, Pujara and all of them came up with the goods. It was going to be difficult chasing 200 on such a track and Pujara's knock with Vijay early-on was crucial", he added.

Sachin reiterated again that he does not play for records and also thanked the Bangalore crowd for coming out in big numbers for the Test match.

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was awarded the Border-Gavaskar trophy by the legendary Sunil Gavaskar. India have retained the prestigious trophy as they won the 4-match series 2-0 against Asutralia in 2008.

"The batsmen did well in the series but special remarks for the bowlers. Ishant bowled a magnificent spell in the second innings at Mohali. The bowlers have worked hard and done a splendid job for the side. The youngters performed, fast bowlers also along with the spinners and the batsmen and all of that stood out in the series", Dhoni said while describing the win.

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting said that his team played 'some reasonable cricket' in Bangalore but their batting in the second innings 'was sub-standard'
