SAARC Satellite to be a Communication-cum-Meteorology Satellite - To be launched in 2016

The future 2018 satellite as per pakistan report will be made by china, develop by china, finance by china and of course will launch by china. For name sake pakistan satellite..

.
In any case, this would be beneficial for all our region - it would help the development of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan can go its own way.

Unlikely, pakistan has their own com sat, sri lanka has their own com sat and will soon launche a second one and Bangladesh will also have their own com sat from 2017. All these com sats actually have excess capacity so for the sarrc sat it may be useful for nepal, bhutan and maldives only.

Depends on the number of transponders on these satellite.

Depends on the number of transponders on these satellite.

Bangladeshi sat is expected to have 48 transponder of different frequencies and power outputs. The Bangladeshi government has a long term plan to build our own ICT infrastructure, includding the 4th largest data centre in the world. The plan is to build the economy both top down and bottom up, ie low paid industries like garments, leather etc for the huge low paid workers and ICT/BOP/software industries, ship building, light engineering etc at the other end.

The BD sat, called Bangabhundhu will have more then enough capacity for a decade or so. The sarrc sat has not been a part of this plan, it may be useful as a backup, but only if required.

Nopes, this is probably a communication satellite. We would only know of the launcher when specification of satellite comes out.Gslv mk2 can launch a satellite weighing <= 2200kg,I believe higher payloads are possible.

But its not operational/reliable as of yet. So can't say this is an operational rocket. Needs more successful consecutive launches before we can consider it reliable enough to take on more crucial missions. Hopefully India will be successful in this endeavour, since the ability to launch heavy satellites above 4 ton GTO is crucial for India's desire to truly become a significant/important player in space satellitte communication business which until now has been dominated by the U.S, E.U, Russia and China. This will enable India to reduce/stop its dependence on ESA for heavy sat launches. So this rocket will be crucial for India. Hopefully it enters service these coming years at earliest.

DATA received from evil Hindu satellite is Haram. If evil Hindu satellite forcast Tsunami on our cost, we shall not move to safe place but prefer to die.
Good! So there will be no need of a war! We need to just troll Pakistan!! :P

It may only be beneficial for the smaller SAARC countries but it has nothing for Pakistan. And since india is the central entity in this project so the security concern will remain top of the agenda.

Anyways Pakistan has her own satellite in the orbit for same purpose.
Take it or leave it! No one's forcing you.

It's better Pakistan stays away. SAARC doesn't want Pakistan's Cyber Army to hack the satellite and spoil the party!

Iam not talking about the mk3 ( one in my avatar ) but mk2 .It will only take 1 or 2 launches to operationalise it,and it would happen by 2016.
