SAARC is a dead org. Completely useless organisation Look at ASEAN lol.

i think it was BD.
India should do something like SAARC but minus Pak, Afghan
would the smaller neighbors agree to that kind of an organization? not too sure (like one country would naturally be super dominant) but worth a try

Technically, the previous Aghan government is still the legitimate government until the new one is officially recognized, which no one has done. To bring the Taliban-led government to a current SAARC meeting, or any other diplomatic meeting would mean de facto recognition.

Splitting hairs, but still...
How is it legitimate? You could cite the example of the French government in exile during ww2 but in this case there was no foreign invasion (rather a foriegn force was holding it all together)
A legitimate government would have survived beyond a withdrawal.

Pakistan and Afghanistan should form a new body and invite Srilanka/Bangladesh/Nepal to it

We already have BBIN (BD-Bhutan-India-Nepal) and BIMSTEC (BD-India-Myanmar-Sri Lanka-Thailand)

what exactly does it entail?
trade pact?, road, train connection?

BBIN was setup after the failure of SAARC. BBIN has already succeeded in connectivity agreements.

BIMSTEC is for countries bordering Bay of Bengal. It is also majorly focused on connectivity - road, rail, maritime.

Nothing much. India is completing the alphabet. ABCD.........

Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Nepal made an agreement on the free movement of cargoes and passenger vehicles in the sub-region.
