S. Korea to export 24 FA-50 light attackers to Iraq

Well sometime there are politics involved in such defense deals. Considering the parties, they both are under US influence.
10 planes they could have bought in same budget

1.Mig-29SMT
2.Su-27
3.JF-17
4.HAL Tejas
5.Saab Gripen
6.Goshawk
7.J-10B
8.Yak-130
9.Su-30
10. F-16s.
i am not saying that FA-50 is bad trainer, it is really good one i must say. But problem is they are paying for multirole fighter aircraft, not for a trainer.

also include Mig35, M-346, L-15 etc.
First of all it's not a trainer jet it's a light fighter jet.And you can't judge it to be expensive unless you know well of the descriptions.

AND YOUR POINT IS ?

IT IS A REALLY POOR CHOICE AT THAT cost ;if they wanted advanced trainer they could have gone for worlds best in BAE HAWK or if they wanted a light jet they could have gone for JF-17 .OR GRIPEN

. .
Wouldn't JF-17 be a good option for Iraq? Iraq is getting billion of $ of arms from Russia, and JF-17 is thus far powered by RD-93. JF-17 is far more advanced and capable than FA-50.

First fill your stomach before feeding others. PAF has large number of obsolete Aircrafts in inventory we are unable to quickly replace them due to Funding problem and you expect Pakistan to export. FA-50 is only capable because american Engine and US BVR/WVR Missiles but Iraq is buying without any BVRs since S. Korea has no indigenous BVR and US is not selling AMRAAMs to Iraq for their F-16s so a good buy for training and light fighter duties but still handicapped.

My point is that your assessment has been based on a wrong information the entire time. So it's either meaningless or has no use for keep bugging with it. Facts are facts my friend
