Korea to Discuss Export of 12 Advanced Trainer Jets to the Philippines


It is likely that Korea&#8217;s trainer jets will be exported to the Philippines.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration said Tuesday that Korea and the Philippines will hold their 16th bilateral joint commission talks on military cooperation in Manila from Aug. 13 to 16.

An official said that the two governments will deal with the export of TA-50s to the Philippines at the talks. The TA-50 is the earlier version of the advanced T-50 supersonic trainer jet.

That's correct, it will be 10 brand new 195 tons patrol boat for the PCG which is similar to the 45 meter Bizan class and 2 large Shiretoko class vessel plus 2 more locally built brand new MPAC, 1 Ex- Hamilton class cutter for the PN before 2012 ends while the PAF will receive 4 more additional brand new W-3A Sokols, 2 C-130 aircraft , 4 brand new Eurocopter Fennec AS-550 AH and 21 UH-1H Huey helicopters by the end of 2012 ...

mmm what difference does 12 T50 Golden Eagle can make in SCS......Its not that they are buying T50 to replace Trainer....They are buying T50 to replace their fighter jets.....I think it would have been alot better if they would have purchased Gripen C/D or Gripen NG.......

The PAF will purchase the T/A-50 aircraft which means Trainer and Attack variant and not the basic T-50 model plus this will not be use for interdiction duties unless in an emergency situation as it will be utilize extensively for advance pilot training in preparation for the MRF aircraft acquisition program which will begin around 2014 to 2016 ...
