S-300 as we know is Russian medium range SAM and automated air defence system which is quite famous or infamous depending how you see it. Thing is The S-300 is regarded as one of the most potent anti-aircraft missile systems currently fielded.The system can destroy ground targets at a range of 120 km (19,000 fragments or 36,000 according to various missiles).
Why is it so? and I am trying to list any real life success and reported incidents.
Its more of deterrence and psychological weapon given its hyped success rate. Any weapon Israel fears means one should take it seriously. I heard that it wanted to buy F-35 in first place to counter S-300.
