Key words Russian origin, the Varyag is of Russian origin it was designed at the Nevskoye Planning and Design Bureau located in Saint Petersburg, Russia. So it definitely originated from Russia. Furthermore, it was constructed in the Soviet Union--Russia was the ruling Republic, the official language was Russian, the Kremlin was located in Moscow and the majority of all major weapons such as nuclear stockpiles came under Russian control after the Soviet Union collapsed. Ukraine was nothing more than a chunk of land that was absorbed into the Russian empire aka the Soviet Union. Countless weapons systems are built under license in other countries, this does not mean that a weapons system such as an F-16 is not American just because it is built in another country.

A little history lesson the shipyard that built the Varyag was order to be constructed by a Russian named Grigori Aleksandrovich Potemkin. The design of the Varyag as i mentioned was conceived in Saint Petersburg, Russia and even the current Russian aircraft carrier was constructed in the same shipyard, does this mean it's Ukrainian? Russian had full control of all republic including Ukraine.

The Russian navy had no money to continue the construction of the Varyag so Ukraine simply kept the ship and sold it to China. So yes it is of Russian origin, Ukraine simply inherited the ship. The only stake Ukraine had in the Varyag's construction was that it used Ukrainian labor--and an interesting fact is that Ukrainians and present day Russians originated from the same area, the language is similar and half of the Ukrainian population considers themselves Russians.

So simply put the ship is of Russian origin.

Probbly Russia said look we are not going to finance all the space mission on our own if US will not run its 50% share of cost and supplying the station

I mean US just retired its fleet with out discussing it with Russians so the Russians said look fine we also are stopping our rockets for some time

The Americans and Russians have launched most of rockets into air space.their rocket techniques remains ahead of our rocket.Especially in rocket engine.there’s really no reason we play jokes on this failure launch of russian rocket.What is more, our rocket failed launch the other day too.
