Russia's shrinking population can stop it from gaining SuperPower status

I think that is unfair, I know some Kolkotans with parents who crossed over from BD, and they are some very intelligent and honest, hard working people. Maybe most of them are in poverty which is why they fit those descriptions but you can't generalize. Of course though, you would know better and are in a better position to judge.
That was just a provocative comment btw its damn true that the refugees have all but pretty much gained IND citizenship & with our stupid govt they can't even issue UID's even after 60+ yrs of independence !

we just read yesterday aht Russia has record population growth under putin

sir area of Russia is around 2 times to Australia but labor force of Russia is around 6 times to Australia? even if total area of Mexico, Canada, Australia would be 1.5 times to Russia, Labor force of Russia is almost equal to these 3 countries? then there is no reason to worry much about population growth but yes Russia won't have any fall from their current level of population :agree:

LABOR FORCE

8 Russia - 75,410,000
12 Mexico - 47,770,000
31 Canada - 18,680,000
43 Australia - 12,020,000

even their unemployment rate is around 7%, quite high, while there is no shortage of skills in Russia. even Russian high skilled people migrate in mass. then why would they worry for more population?

Let us stop panicking guys. Russia has faced numerous problems over the centuries and has always emerged the victor. And they have been 'depopulated' drastically several times (anyone forgot WW2?) and still emerged a superpower eventually.

Russia just needs to regain the influence and dominance over the former Soviet republics. Knowing the Russians, you don't need to teach them. They will find a way.

I think Russia is declining fast.
I don't think so. Russia has some issue with economy and thining population. But it's still recoverable. And I think it will be done in 4/5 years. They just need to maintain and rearrange things. They have developed a lot of potential already. So it's just going to be administration and policy work. Putin is good at that.
