90 nm, 500 Mhz.
You are aware that this is similar to what Lego is using in their recently released Mindstorm Robot.
It is likely to have taken 2-3 years to develop, so Russia is developing 2011 Toy Technology TODAY!
Characteristics of the test stands
Intel Core i7 2600-Elbrus 2C-Elbrus 4C
Number of cores 4-2-4
Clock frequency, MHz 3400-500-700
Comparative results of testing of microprocessors
Intel Core i7-2600Elbrus-2C+Elbrus-4C
Archiving algorithm 7zip (compression), MB/s 3,95-0,543-0,665
Archiving algorithm 7zip (extraction), MB/s 33,437-6,296-8,679
first of all has your 300€ toy an arm processor made by American semiconductor manufacturer Texas Instruments not lego, second its clocked at 300mhz

this is already what our outdated 500-700 mhz cpus do, once when we get 8 core with 1.3 mhz the core i7 cpu will suck *** against our own russian made cpu. Slowly but surely we will built our own cpus decreasing the nanometer size and producing cpus with higher clock speed while you european will still keep buying your CPUs from american calculator manufacturers.
where`? you dont have anySwedish companies have had 1 GHz+ dual core in 45 nm for several years already.
Now Quad-Core/Octa-Core is beeing released in finer technologies.
Reason Lego went with ARM9 technology, was that it is obsolete and thus so cheap.
So there was really no reason to create a link to obsolecense.

@A.P. Richelieu ,there is 90 nm and 65 nm already. the 90nm has a speed of 28 Gflops and 65nm has a speed of 50 gflops.
90nm elbrus-2s is comparable to core2duo. 65nm one is comparable to i3,i5 and first generation i7.
Why not boast about 3 micron technology also, Russia has had it for AGES.
No, very few companies have their own (modern) fab nowadays. Intel and Samsung and not much more.
Even Apple does not manufacture their own chips.
The fabs cost 2-3 B$ each.
You fab at TSMC, Samsung and the likes.
