Russia's government resigns after President Vladimir Putin's address: PM Medvedev

MOSCOW: The Russian government has resigned after President Vladimir Putin's State of the Nation address, Prime Minister Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev announced on Wednesday.

Russian media are reporting that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's government has submitted its resignation to President Vladimir Putin.

Several local news agencies carried the report on January 15, adding that Putin will decide on the makeup of the new government.

Interfax said, without giving its source, that Putin has instructed the outgoing government to perform its duties until a new administration is in place.

It added that Putin plans to create the position of Russian Security Council deputy secretary and that the post will be offered to Medvedev.

No Putin will be President of RF until like 2024 its just his cabinet and PM that resigned under order by Putin they are drafting a new Constitution for Russia I see Putin staying beyond that by getting some loophole bu trying merge Belarus with Russia or some constitutional change of sorts he aint going anywhere for now

Medvedev and Putin have long time relations going back the the 90s and Medevedev who is lil more pro western than Putin was just bait to the west for Putin's hiatus from 2008-2012

That's whats he doing he is framing a new constitution for the country and next President will only have two terms only he is trying to be like Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore or Nursulatan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan have large role in the Govt but not as President in the future
