For reasons (telling of the second and true Khalifa of Islam) that if he (Umar RadiAllah ta'aalah anho) would pray in the Orthodox Church, that somewhere down the line, one of his successors may convert that Church into a Masjid, just because Hazrat Umar RadiAllah ta'aalah anho had prayed there.

based off what? their economic, military, population power(combined state power) has never been stronger. I'm afraid you are not talking relative to current relality. As a matter of fact, my own argument is counter to this- Russia can fight multiple effective wars today with 1) not spending their whole bank and 2) not using their Russian ground forces directly...just like US does. So evidence on ground actualyl suggests Russia's power has increased multiples of what it was after the break up of the USSR.

This also increases risk that they were involved in destruction of shrines in Syria
