Russia plays zero to no point in the european history and has absolute zero impact on the creation of europe. How many hellenic leaders were russian? zero. How many roman emperors came from russia? zero. What part does russia play in the time of the holy empire? zero. In the crusades? zero. In the renaissance? Zero.

Russia is not and never was part of the EU. As this it can never be part of Europe. A leader must be something you look up too. A leader can never be someone you look down on.

To give you a conclusion, russia tried to rule at least over eastern europe and failed miserable. People looked down on russia so much, that they celebrate the SS as their liberators till today in the baltic states.

Then there is the economic discrepancy. The EU is the economic giant of the world. Its marketpower is greater than any other block on earth. Russia on the other side is an economic dwarf. Its economy is smaller than california. Russia has Moscow and St. Petersburg...the EU has Rome, Berlin, London, Paris, Barcelona and other hot spots that attract the entire world

Then you have the difference of religion. Europe is mostly roman catholic. Russia is russian-orthodox. That rift alone would made a merger impossible.

Your proposal fails on so many levels that you should see how laughable it is. Also from the russian side.

There is nothing people would identify with or be loyal with. To create empires you need a unifieing force. Something the people believe in and be loyal with.

and what part does UK play in all of this? also nothing yet they lead industrialization and russia followed soon. Only southern europe became backwards after this. Now southern europe is the same situation while russia grows.

So orthodox = not european? What are greeks then who invented europe?

Rusia isnt doing bad, But i must say compared to western Europe, Russia still lags behind(im not trying to put Russia down, just making an obvious observation) in living standards. Reason why many rich/corrupt/wealthy Russians billionaires/offcials/civilians etc emmigrate abroad to western Europe(there are lots of them here in London, which i dont mind giving they bring their money which bosts our economy even more) and U.S to live/invest and study, as in Russia it seems the investment climate there is not favorable for such people. The day Rich Russians oligarchs/officials/CEOs/Putins daughter etc.lol stop coming to Europe to live/study/invest their ill gotten wealth then i will know Russia has indeed overtaken us in living standards , until then Russia should keep catching up.

Its strange, since its same with China, they both dislike the evil hegemonistic west, while their officials and even presidents all send their kids to study in the 'evil' west, while claiming how they great their motherland is to their nationalistic naive civilians.lool They are not fouling anybody. This hsows they themselves dont have condifidence in their country education/institutions. There is no greater betrayal than a president sending his kid to study to a rival country(hope we indoctrinate them with our liberal views/values so they can serve our interests when they return to rule their country in future.). Pathetic indeed.

russia has higher immigration rate than most western countries, yes, many Russians are leaving but Georgians, Armenians, Ukrainians and Central Asians as well as Chinese and South Asians are begging to come to Russia to have a better living standard.
