Varyag is a piece of junk for modern PLAN standard. They gonna train it first, then maybe become a floating target for DF-21D or Railgun/Laser's experiment in the next 15-20 years.

It looks like that there is chance that they will test the fire power of ASBM/Railgun/Lasergun against an actual carrier. So once Varyag is decomissioned, her fate is likely being sunk by one of those powerful weapons.
