(Reuters) - A Ukrainian military helicopter was shot down near the pro-Russian rebel-controlled eastern town of Slaviansk on Monday, but the pilots survived, the Defense Ministry said.

The helicopter, an Mi-24, which came under fire from a heavy machine gun, crashed into a river. The ministry said in a statement the crew were evacuated to a nearby camp but did not give any detail of their condition.

At least three other helicopters have been shot down by pro-Russian rebels since uprisings began in eastern parts of the country early this year. nL6N0NR2OU

Russia has NO business to annex Crimea or foment unrest in other eastern Ukrainian regions. Russia will pay a hefty price for its insolence. This is not pre-WWI era. Russia will pretty much be banned from all international forums for its actions by the West. Putin's ego will be the demise of Russia.

Ukrainians didn't choose shit. A small group of them which was probably paid by the west, overthrew the elected govt and installed a western leaning govt. Not much better if you ask me.
