Russian Navy Spots Foreign Submarine near Russia-Japan Border

I agree with nihonji. I find it funny that Chinese/Russian members on here keep talking about nuking Japan. Lol
Lets not be emotional bro. Our politicians arent stupid to know that a nuclear attack from any country will invite the wrath of the whole international community and yes in that case the U.S will intervene since nuking japan will be too much to ignore unlike ukraine situation. So there wont be any nuclear conflict just because of some little islands. It will all be conventional.
Japan has a large/powerful/advanced navy backed by the world's supreme power the U.S who is still seceral decades ahead of any country that comes second. So it will be difficult for Russia to defeat japan in sucj a scenario. However we never know until an actual war starts who will be the winner. Japan might look mightier than Russia, but they can still lose. Its not always about official naval might, but also strategy. For example Russias navy in 1905 was way more powerful than japan (on paper). But still they were completely wiped out by japan. In fact their fast defeat even surprised the west and japan itself.lol
I do understand that Chinese, Indian, vietnamese members might tend to favour Russia in their comments on here, giving their reliance in Russian soviet era weapons. But they should try and be realistic and stop talking about nuking japan since that wont happen.
By the way talking about Vietnam. I would like to know where my good vietnamese members stand on this. In the even of conflict between Russia and Japan who will Vietnam support?

Well said , my English buddy. We truly need to be pragmatic about the realities on the ground , and quite frankly all the chest thumping doesn't change that. Thankfully we can still talk in realistic terms here.

US military is highly overrated. China embarrassed the entire US military in the Korean War when the gap between the US and PLA was far larger than it is now. The US don't have the guts to go to war with either Russia or China.

As for Japan, their military is a joke. Chinese ballistic and cruise missile forces could easily take care of Japan. China has a MASSIVE arsenal of ballistic and cruise missiles. Not only does China have literally hundreds if not thousands of ballistic and cruise missiles, China has the full array of missiles from short-range, medium-range, intermediate-range to intercontinental-range which can be delivered from ground, submarine, ship and air.

Japan has only 6 Aegis destroyers, the rest are very primitive destroyers and most of their surface fleet are frigates. Japanese Air Force with only few hundred F-15 and F-16 won't stand a chance against the hundreds upon hundreds of modern fighters in the PLAAF and the hundreds of older fighters that still carry modern air-to-air and anti-ship missiles.

China has a massive advantage numerically over Japan and remember even older air and naval platforms still carry the most modern missiles and bombs. So getting hit by a missile delivered from a modern fighter or older fighter will face the same fate...destruction.

China can afford to lose many air and naval platforms because of the numerical advantage. Japan can't afford to lose any air and naval platforms.

To even take Japan as a serious military threat to the PLA is laughable. Only US and Russia can challenge China but even their advantage is rapidly diminishing with each passing year.

In addition to the conventional weaponry in the PLA, China also has a very large nuclear arsenal with nuclear triads to deliver those nuclear warheads if China needs them.

No one is touching China as the PLA goes from strength to strength as the Chinese economy grows and Chinese technologies advance at a rapid rate.

Japan is outclassed in every way, shape and form :coffee:
