J-20 production in 2016, IOC in 2017. J-20 has 1 more prototype this year, number 2016 I think. Even if Rafale deal is signed, first delivery won't be until 2025 just like Scorpene

Rafale is crap compared to J-20. Rafale is not replacement of Mirage 2000. Rafale is not 5th generation. Rafale is not useful to India.

5th generation is a mindless cliche, started by Lockheed Martin's marketing gimmick .These classifications are not clearly defined in terms of capabilities. J-20 is still in the prototype stage ,its capabilities are not clear , it might as well be a F-35 boongdoggle in the making,lets wait and see.

After Defence minister Manohar Parrikar hinted that if Rafale deals collapses India might go for additional Su-30 aircrafts which are already build in country by HAL . Russian tabloid news agencies are taking pot-shots at France over possible collapse of Rafale Deal.

That is the best course of action since neither Pakistan nor China has superior fighter compared to Su30 MKI. Rafale price has risen from $10 billion to $20 billion and nobody knows the final price and it could be $30 billion. French aircrafts and spare parts are usually very expensive.

Russia media should stop spreading rumours about China‘s purchase of Su-35s till the Chinese MOD confirms the deal，even though I am all for the aircrafts simply to speed up the phasing-out of the numerous old J-7s and J-8s in service。
