MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said Moscow has no plans to move its troops from Syria's Hamimim military base to Egypt on a "permanent basis".
Lavrov made the remarks in an interview with the Russian channel today after news media circulated about Russia's intention to transfer troops to Egypt.
The statements raised questions about the extent of the danger facing Egypt by Daesh, especially that denying the permanence of the transfer of Russian troops does not deny the intention of Russia to send troops to Egypt to participate in the fight against terrorism.
Lavrov said that international military cooperation to counter terrorism in the region, including Egypt occupies an important place.
