Russia to provide 4 Mi-35 ‘Hind E’ helicopters to Pakistan

.
4 are the litmus test for our new friendship .I am more interested in Engine overhauling fascility for these birds ,once this is finalized you will see strong numbers of Mi35 and other MIs as well so relax and enjoy the show

. . . . .
Viper is also a Cobra version and no Sir during Musharaf era we got new Cobras which are not going to retire next
Sir those were US AH-1s who were stationed in Jordan but then given to PA. They werent brand new. But yes Cobras are not retiring till atleast 10 years from now as the old ones had been structurally and electrically overhauled a lil while ago.

Sir U r are right with the regard to those. The ones i saw in Peshawar in desert camo were reportedly oldies but flown quite less and they came fly worthy and got deployed straight away to the field.

I once saw an AH-1 on static display in a aviation video, like you see F-86 or F-6 in parks just like that.So they are being phased out not at a rapid pace but they will be gone by 2019.

Although old, they barely had an flying hours on them. They were kept in reserve, thus kept in storage and were barely used. This deal was similar to the Mirage III's we received from Libya, barely any flying hours, almost new.

But still not worthy enough to pass through any heavy upgrade. :-)
There is simply not enough space on gunship to house modern targeting, surveillance, protection and weapon systems.
I guess they can use only wire guided ATGM for tank hunting.

AH-1s were extensively used and barely got enough time to cover their ER entries. But just like MLU gave new life to F-16s, so is the case with our AH-1s. In house n abroad all options were pursued.
