Russia - Super Power Again?

loll great understanding of economics you got there. The reason is that japan is fully developed economy and india russia and china re still developing.
kk lemme expain it to u. Japan's current per capita is over 40000, which is at par with the west. but russia, india and china are way behind. By that logic Japan should be a superpower. But they are not. Japans current population is shrinking and their economy is contracting at the rate of -0.2%.

If 25 yrs from now lets say india, china are fully developed and have same per capita as japan, then their economy has to be 10 times the economy of japan and 5 times the usa. This will give them much much more money to spend on defence and superpower ambitions. The more people you have the more money you can generate and more u can waste on being a super power.

This is the reason why Iran wants its people to produce more kids. so that they can avoid population collapse.

At the end of the day, it is technology and the country with most young people that will rule the world. Aging countries like japan and russia have no chance of achieving superpower glory.

Russia is on the brick to get living standards like in japan in the near future

Who cares about superpower status, Russia will be biggest economy in Europe its enough to have its house in order, What matters if youre bigger economy but your people live in poverty like in china and india is now. Russia should concentrate to be as productive and wealthy as it can.

Russia is already a super power. It never lost its super power status. Yeah it became inactive for a while but its still holding its position against the western hegemony......

nope, a country of the size 5 times that of India & population of just 15 crore or so. Whatever they aspire they don't really have the population to support there aspirations. Yes they have great military power but there economy (mainly supported by the petroleum exports) & population is not upto the mark of a superpower.

Militarily they are no 2 in the world ,

Plus in case of a prolonged war they can sustain war efforts because they have loads of petrol which India or china dont have ...

you cannot be a super power if you solely depend on your resources, you need to exploit other countries and their resoruces, like US did so well in last 50 years. A saturaton time comes when a country cannot grow anymore, and then they need to reply of the population of other countries, same as US is planning now for India but Indian are smarter than they think and wont get in this trap

First thing for every country should be to make their citizens have a good standard of living and welfare not supoerpower , who cares if your living in poor but your country has the strongest weapons , balance it with good defence and standard of living , FIRST SHOULD BE PEOPLE

To be a superpower, the basic needs you need are the following:

1.) A strong economy, which should also be higher or comparable to it's neighbours (Russia has Germany and China a head of it, but is ahead of every other neighbour).

2.) A very strong military (the military must have the strongest weapons of the current date, in the 20-21st cent this is nuclear weapons, Japan, Brazil and Germany lack this).

3.) A huge population, comparable to other powers in the region and around the world. Russia's 100 million plus people is good.

4.) International influence (UN Seat, and Russia has a termendous amount of influence on it's neighbour and even on America and China).

5.) Self reliance. Meaning, must have some resource of it's own, must be able to do stuff around the world, inventions of weapons, etc.

To me, Russia, along with China and America, is currently a superpower.
