The Russian side expressed perplexity at the Indian media allegations that Russia had refused to grant India the modern technologies for the production of T-90 tanks and spare parts for them, a source close to the Russian military-industrial complex, told RIA Novosti.

"The Russian side promptly and fully follows all the agreements with India concerning the licensed production of T-90 tanks, including those relating to the supply of components and the transfer of technical documentation," - said the source.

Earlier, “Business Standard” claimed that Russia refused to provide India with modern technologies required for the production of T-90 tanks at Indian factories and constantly delayed delivery of parts. According to the publication, this has led to the fact that, instead of the expected one thousand tanks, India produced only 150, having a negative impact on the Indian defense sector.

"It's hard to say why such publications suddenly appeared. The cooperation between Moscow and New Delhi in the military-technical sphere is regulated by intergovernmental agreements and monitored by the Intergovernmental Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation. It is also regularly monitored at the meetings of the corresponding subgroups within the Intergovernmental Commission. And if there are any questions, they are quickly solved, "- said the source.

According to several sources close to the Russian Embassy in India, the appearance of such articles may be regarded as an attempt to make Russia responsible for the difficulties with the development of the licensed production of modern military equipment in India. The sources believe that the new publication in the “Business Standard” confirms the suspicions that a number of Indian companies can not cope with the order for T-90 tanks and delay its implementation.

The agreement for the licensed production of Russian tanks T-90 in India was signed in 2001. T-90 tanks are produced at a factory in the city of Avadi, in Tamil Nadu

Its all hoax....there's no production going on in the assembly lines and if russians have given us all the tech then this wouldn't have happened...

there is production going on and has been for more than 2 years.
Russians had initially refused to provide us with certain materials but when we developed them on our own they gave them to us, thereby abiding by the contracts( only delayed). Spare parts for the T90 are also no major concern now since it is produced in india.

No production is going on...Only in 2009 first batch of t90 bhishm was produced and since then nothing has come out of that production line...

No we are not and the number produced is way less than 100. Russians haven't given us ****...We should think about purchasing leopard 2 or Challenger 2 or may be Merkava 4.

It's the Indian incompetence that resulted in snail pace T-90 production. Indians love to pass the blame around. Russia unfortunately had to deal with them.

Do not troll for the sake of trolling. Put some logic as well. India developed many of the systems for T-90S which are denied by Russia as critical technologies.

USA!! :D

Broadsword: T-90 tank: Technology transfer, supply of assemblies hit Russian stonewall
if you are reffering to this article then it states clearly that 150 T-90s have been produced in India - considering that production started in late 2009 then we have produced 150 tanks in 2 years that's a rate of 75 tanks per year. good enough considering that rate will only improve.

past few months i see \Indian media just love bashing Russian tech and commitment.

Buying heavy Western or Israeli MBT in a country with limited infrastructure to support the heavy tonnage will complicate things further. There is no easy fix here.

Leopard 2 is best out of three. We should buy the best one instead of cheap one (T-90).

there are no plans at all for going for western tanks.... we will be sticking for rusisians only...

why we need to run behind all this western toys?
we can stick to T90 sice is cheap and india has the experiance operating the russians tank......meanwhile we will see our on arjun comes to its full ability & maximize produdction..........
But what we can do is add some western & indain gadgets to increase the perfomance of T90
