Russia seeks to sell stealth jets to Korea

Actually their was a transfer of S-400 technology:agree:

Thanks for correcting Thomas.

Coming up next after the wrap-up of KM-SAM(9M96 equivalent) is KL-SAM, functionally equivalent to 48N6. But it is not a 48N6, but actually a Ramjet missile; thus much lighter and more agile. So I guess Russians are trying to develop a new generation of SAMs with Korean money or something?

So Russia has no problem selling cutting-edge stuff to Koreans and this is why even PAK-FA is on the table now.

Something is not ringing quite true here in your statement.

South Korean Forces use a combination of Hawk, Nike, and Patriot SAM systems. All Patriot batteries are being upgraded to the PAC-3. There also has been no transfer of S400 technology. In fact Russia pulled the S400 off the international market. And AMD-CELL has to do with a radar warning system. Which Israel has won the contract for.

Can you please provide any sources?

What he says is correct, but outdated. He wasn't aware of KM-SAM and KL-SAM program to replace Hercules and Nike missiles.

I was going by current deployed batteries and inventories. but you are correct I was not aware just how much Samsung group has been involved with Almaz-Antey. They have been helping Antey for awhile now with Air defense development.

If S korea rejects the bid , N korea will grab PAKFA for sure, may be in less no's.

This shows why the F22 is soo crappy,

Lets be honest here, we all know that the Silent eagle or Lighting II will be selected duo political reasons. S Korea will never buy russian equipement and never did, The only reason why they have a small number of Russian weapons in use is just for paying of depts by russia

Nope. Russia now does cash-based transactions only; no more military aids. Russia actually has an arms sales office in Seoul, but not in Pyongyang. NK doesn't feel that Russia is on their side at all.

If NK tries to get new weapons, the only possible source is Chinese military aid. But China's not giving that to NK, because of US threats of fighter and sub sales to Taiwan if China provided anything substantial to NK.

So there is no problem with Russian hardware as long as maintenance support is good. Once such case has been KA-32 helicopter, which was procured in large quantity and the maintenance support has been good, so the military and government agencies want more.

So if PAK-FA can deliver KA-32 level support, then the Korean Airforce would have no problem with buying it.

I wonder if this news is true what will be the reaction of Iaf as they are the one who have invested in this project and will be getting 250-300 aircrafts based on T-50 with minor changes , selling 5th generation aircrafts to South Korea is like selling them to US everyone knows about the influence US has over South Korea and a major chunk of South Korea's defence equipment is imported from US , US has access to most of their bases . Will it be in Russia's interest to sell such high-end fighters to a country considered as an ally of Russia's enemy. We all know that what economic position Russia holds and how badly they need money through some big defence deals

There are going to be a lot of changes from the current model of T-50 mate. The whole idea is to see different flight characteristics in this model. The idea is to make two different types one for our specifications and one for what Russians desire. As for selling PAKFA to Koreans, we won't mind because we get a part of the revenue as well.

However getting South Korea to move away from USA will be very very tough.

a bit embarasing, but could you show me a picture of FC-1, i cant remember what it was!

FC-1 is the Chinese designation of JF-17 mate.

W. & E. Germany were about as different as N. & S. Korea

:woot: you serious!? Come on! The difference was far far lesser because of relatively better development in East Germany compared to North Korea. Also, Germans realized that there was no future in communism. North Korean civilians realize this as well but the fat Kims won't let go of so much power after years of getting used to abusing every single North Korean daily. I only imagine what it would be if DPRK military is de-powered and the Kims are left in front of the North Korean population.

And why would Bush be hailed as a hero for attacking North Korea?
He would have ended up with a bigger war on his hands and wasted a lot more lives and money.

Are you seriously thinking that Chinese will fight with their largest buyer of last resort? That too for a dictator that is giving no monetary benefits to Chinese in any way and rather proving to be a liability with each passing day? You're mistaken if that's your idea. CCP itself is fed up of the madcap's antics. North Korea will retaliate hard no doubt, but it will be easily overpowered as the war would have become even more ruthless against Kims with carpet bombing of Kim's army. It is the DPRK's military that keeps Kim so arrogant. He won't last a day without them.

If Bush had invaded North Korea, at least one more Hitler of today could have been eliminated and North Korean civilians could have joined the rest of the world like their southern brethren.

So basically you guys are open to the offer eh? That's good to know. Welcome to the club. :D

It all depends on the quality of bids.

During the First FX program, the Strike Eagle was selected because that's what ROKAF was looking for; a long range bomber to bomb NK nuclear sites.

During the Third FX program, the ROKAF is looking for an air-dominance fighter that could suppress J-20 and escort the rest of the strike fleet heading North, and F-35 is not it. That leaves door open for other bids, and it will essentially be PAK-FA vs Silent Eagle, two fighters able to engage stealth fighters.

Russia is not going to sell North Korea a fighter like the T-50 with Security Council Resolution 1718 in place. Plus North Korea doesn't have the money. They are having a hard time even feeding thier own soldiers right now.

That debunked Rachel Maddow crap again? Guess the world has enough gullibles to keep that nonsense alive.
