seems like it will remain a distant dream... security situations in Afg/Pak is not looking good for future of this project and India will never be interested in this venture as the end customer is India the insurance and taxes on this gas will make it much costly than the gas we already get from middle east...

Hence LNG can come from Qatar or Iran or from both the countries. We do not know capacity of the proposed pipeline.

so it needs russia before iranian gas flows to pakistan? why will "iranian gas"flow now?? the sanctions are off but the gas isnt flowing between iran and pakistan

Offshore pipeline costs twice as much as overland pipeline. Understand an overland gas pipeline until the Iran-Pakistan border already exists and only the Pakistani portion needs to be put in place, hence an off shore pipeline from Iran borders on stupidity.

I don’t see any logic in constructing an offshore pipeline from Qatar either. IMHO it would be far less capital intensive to bring LNG in ships, convert it to gas at Karachi or at Gwadar and connect it to the existing gas pipeline network.

Following the US pipeline reversal model, economic way would be to supply gas requirements for the Northern Sind and rest of Pakistan from the indigenous gas fields and use imported LNG for meeting gas requirements of Karachi and the South.

Russians have the expertise and the funds to construct off shore pipeline. If Putin is hell bent on it, it will happen. Who am I to object?
