Why should it matter? Russia is not a threat to us.

. You clearly don't understand military strategy buddy. The Russians are ticked off at Nato and are having all kinds of issues on their border with Europe. They have resumed patrols of their nuke bombers around the globe, specially England and Alaska (the US). Why do you think they are now expanding around Japan through these islands????

Russians are a part of the Chinese strategy or vis-a-vis. The next "hot" area for wars and impact is the Pacific Ocean around Japan to South China sea and some marginal part of Europe. India, in any real conflict with China and the US will do what its always done. It won't interfere no matter how the US tries to strengthen India by off shoring every job to it. They will simply back out and will wait for China and the US to become weaker so India can become a semi-super power.

So the action will include the Pacific around Japan, South China sea, part of the Gulf Straits due to US and European trade routes and may be a small part of Europe. That's it. These Island expansions are a part to prepare those.
