Russia-China victory in Syria a sign of declining US power

As much as I dislike American intervention, if Assad is truly loved by his people then why doesn't he stand in a free and fair election? Surly he will win by a landslide.

Elections are on the door, but Syria is no way possible ready for elections now, name me one popular opposing candidate for Alasad? in addition to the chaos in the country, people might not even vote, so whats the point of having elections right now, elections could only work when there is peace.

Man who is gonna participate in an election held under a constitution written by the same ppl who r killing their own

You used your own story for Usa failure in Afghanistan, you must have forgotten geography of Afghanistan.

So you want the Syrian army to go to Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq, and Jordan to destroy all those terrorists camps and training camps, Sure i like your idea. I hope the Syrian army does that soon.

Ur coward army can only kill and humiliate its own unarmed ppl

but i like the way u try to change the topic when faced the uprising is not by only less then 10%

I said 10% or less lol, i dont see millions protesting.
Even if 10% population is complaining - it indicates that something is not right with leadership. And the issue is not just limited to protests. Syrian refugees is even bigger issue and has invited international attention.

Every nation on this planet earth has at least 10% opposition, that means new leader for each nation must be declared on daily basis. :disagree:

I have no love for Assad neither am I against him. Without doubt this is an issue for Syrian people. Not Americans not Sauds etc. I have put similar posts to the following and none of the people who wish to interfere have adequatly responded, In that regard I invite you to do so:

I reckon that no external interference should be allowed in any country strict neutrality must be observed.

it is very difficult in the fog of unrest and or civil war or any war to actually get to the truth of the matter.

If it is a true revolution and even a significant minority wish to come out on the streets a country is ungovernable. Lets take the example of Pakistan. Our population is reputed to be 180 million people. If just 20% of the people decide that they want to come out on the streets that would be be 36 million. We have one of the largest standing armies in the world, we have our blessed ISI we have nukes. Even with these forces and nukes what could our army do??? Use nukes on our own people?? That would be the end. You will note it does not even require a majority to come on the streets. In practical terms the overwhelming number of people want to have security, a roof on their head and food on the table and could not give a monkey's who runs the country.

Now lets take the example of Libya-The rebels or whatever you want to call them could barely get out of Benghazi even though they were being funded and armed by third parties from outside the country. I am off the firm opinion in hindsight that Gaddaffi was less than wise because I think it is likely he would have done relatively well in any election and he should have attempted to legitamise his rule.

Had it not been for Nato's role in my opinion it is doubtful that the rebels could have succeeded.

Now lets look at UK and US in recent months we have had riots and civil disobedience. These disturbances have been dismissed as the actions of criminals and undesirables. If a foreign power was to lets say start supplying weapons and moral support these so called criminals and undesirables what could or would happen??

One mans rebel and or protester is another man's criminal and undesirable.

Who decides what the majority in a country wants in for example Syria?? Who decides that Assad is a dictator and must be removed whilst at the same time ignoring what is happening in Bahrain?? Who decides when to support dissident voices in a country. I mean every country has voices that don't agree with their government.

The best we can do is pray for and hope is that the people of a country themselves decide with as little bloodshed as possible a conclusion to the unrest.

If Assad is wise I would hope that dialogue and some sort of election is announced.

Now tell me guys what is so bad about the Russia China proposal-peace and dialogue without apportioning blame and without external interference. For those of you that think the Chinese have taken these actions lightly remember by taking these actions they have take a brave action and stand which they will not be thanked for by GCC.

I would like to remind all that we all have small numbers that do not agree with our govts. What would Sauds do if the Shias in the east were armed and the west started to say they were friends. several countries have Kurd minorities. America is already starting propaganda against various "minorities" in Pakistan. India has insurgencies which could be supported externally. So before you start to support sides in any country remember we all have people in our countries that could be used to serve western interests

lol campairing syrian uprising with bahrain
i can ( and did it in other threads ) post christian, druze and nusairi ( the same sect that this criminal belongs to ) opposition leaders speaking against syria regime while bahrain protests were only for one sect. and number of deaths can't be compared with syria ( though half of dead ppl in bahrain r law officers and expats)

some ppl claim to be not in favor of this buthcer but the point they raise is in its favor or what the regime is trying to convince the whole world.

comparing pakistan with syria is no way right coz syrians have been under the brutal sectarian regime for 40 plus years. but still ppl have come out in very big numbers this is why he is not gonna take those tanks to the camps and yes there is always some categories of public have developed and or have interests with govt. ( just like in pakistan case majority of public is fed up with this govt but they r still in office due to the mutual interest ).

but having said all that worshipers of iranian mullahs will never accept it but like i always write this, the rule of this criminal son of criminal is over be it after 13 thousand deaths of 13 millions ( syrians r not gonna accept his rule no more )

You logic is flawed.

Assad is using wrong methods to deal with opposition. And his supporters are blind enough to support him in his every step (like you are doing here). Opposition exists in majority of the countries but do those in power have the right to butcher the opposition like Assad is doing? Come to Pakistan and you will witness incredible opposition.

Why thousands of Syrians have fled to other countries during the current crises?

Do you see American refugees in Canada?
Do you see Pakistani refugees in India?
Do you see Iranian refugees in Iraq?

And vice versa....
