Russia, China, Japan, not America on Narendra Modi's priority list: Report

Why journalists passes judgement like distributing candies among kids?
Modi calls Obama, talks on strengthening India-US ties | Business Standard
Here goes the artical in drain. People need to report the situation and let public make their own judgement. It's not job of journalists.

Man it was obvious. Not just for Modi ji but for the country. The last time we had a strong, charismatic leader under Vajpayee ji, the US government was almost on a collision course with us; unlike their citizens who are generally peaceful, their government simply hates the idea of a powerful, independent and decisive government in India. It has been their biggest fear for some stupid paranoia that they have had since Kissinger's time.

True that US cozied up later and we moved forward with bilateral relations, but their government is nothing like the casual, relaxed attitude their citizens have. And our neighbourhood is littered with the consequences of what happens when you go too close to them.

On top of that, they pissed off the man who has been proven innocent after 12 years of cases, court, law and authorities proving him innocent legally of any wrongdoing; that too when he is the most powerful leader our country has had, on par with Indira and the Iron Man, Sardar Patel.

I request you to read on what all the US did to personally attack Modi ji. That witch Hillary Rodham Clinton is known to have financed and backed a group of so-called NGOs (one of them is of Teesta Setalvad's fame, the terrorist supporter who wanted to get Modi ji hanged). Her words were "Get Modi".

Google these things for details and tell me is it not right for him to get angry at them? I feel they have a lot of explaining to do considering the level of cooperation they have had with our country.

USA will still be a key strategic partner for us but we will have to be cautious; not like MMS and his Italian Owners who almost sold us off to Obama.

Narendra Modi just ignored US Secretary John Kerry gesture from Twitter message. Hope US and India's relationship goes well or sink after diplomat Devyani Khobragade effect.

When will his next stop to Pakistan?
Modi will naturally ignore a secretary. Why should the PM of the largest democracy in the world respond to a secretary? His level of communication is with the President of the US of A, not a secretary. That's protocol.

So there's no reason why the Yanks should get riled up over this rebuff.

And yes, he should extend a hand of friendship towards Pakistan and see how it pans out.

LOL you misunderstood me!
I wish our journalist put data stats and potential possibilities based on facts for their reader/ audiences to grasp and make their own judgement.

I've no problem with you or some one saying that looking at past behavior of US/ India govt. it may be bumpy road for MOdi t/ US to have cordial relations.

But i do objection when a journalist says "It's Modi (or who ever) the relation between US and India will be very bad?"

Regarding, sabotage in other country, it's part of diplomacy to create favorable condition for negotiation. Good relation on surface does not grant and good behavior/ response behind you back is true in day to day life and equally true in diplomacy.

UN chief Ban Ki-moon hopes Narendra Modi will attend UN General Assembly, climate change summit

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon "very much" hopes India's Prime Minster elect Narendra Modi will attend the UN General Assembly here later this year and particularly participate in the climate change summit, a top official of the world body said on Wednesday.

"We would very much hope that Modi would come to the General Assembly and especially attend the Secretary General's climate change summit. India has a big role to play on the issue of climate change and it has very important contributions to make and we would hope to see him here in New York in September for the summit," Ban's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told PTI.

Dujarric's made the remarks when asked about whether the UN chief has spoken to Modi following his election as India's Prime Minister and invited him to visit the UN.

Ban had last week commended the Indian government, its people and the political parties on peacefully conducting its general elections in which the BJP had registered a historic win.

Ban had said the conclusion of the elections in India demonstrated once again that India's popular designation as the world's largest democracy is well deserved.

Modi has tweeted the congratulatory messages he received from world leaders on his win and appointment as India's new leader. In a tweet, Modi had expressed gratitude to the UN chief "for his good wishes" and said "India values our long and proud relationship with the UN. We will continue our active contribution to the @UN & work with all the nations towards world peace & development"

Looks like his travel plan is already decided even before he opened his mouth to specify.

July: He has to fly to Brazil to attend BRICS summit.

September: This climate change summit in USA.

December: He has to fly to Russia for the India-Russia summit that we have every year. Putin was here last year.

Which means that he has very little time to stuff his visit to Japan and possibly Israel in the middle of all this, apart from his main target to repair our economy back to growth.

I too am worried on that front - the naxal issue - many security men were killed during the elections is one of primary concern. Instead of that he is being bombarded with invitations and has invited all our neighbors leaving him precious little time to concentrate at home.

@Everyone worried about Modi's workload.

You guys remember that this guy sleeps 4 hours a night right? He's a workaholic and has an amazing team behind him.

We'll be right :)
