Russia, China, India and Turkey condemn Libya strikes.

:coffee: I was surprised. India does not support the decision of the West.
Does not fear Western angry?

we have independent foreign policy and other inside secret is that the govt is afraid of muslim votes.

i personally like russia than america because america likes to controll everything related to it.it's the rivalry with china regarding AP which pushes india towards america.

This strikes should force Gadaffi a truce with rebels and subsequently elections to find out people's will. Else it is a waste of life and money.

i know... but Pakistan should condemn ...

9:28am Pakistan's foreign office has issued a carefully-worded statement on the intervention but appears to be opposed to military action:

Pakistan is following, with serious concern, the developments in Libya in the wake of the military strikes. The loss of precious human lives is indeed regrettable. Peaceful political solution needs to be evolved by the Libyan people themselves in the spirit of mutual accommodation and national reconciliation

9:16am China isn't backing down on its opposition to the no-fly zone. Foreign ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu used a regular news briefing today to say that China had "deep concern" about civilian casualties and the possibility of a "humanitarian disaster" and wanted an end to the fighting.

Though Gaddafi's regime claims dozens of people have died in the air strikes, there's no way of knowing for sure, and the coalition has completely denied any civilian casualties.

8.31am GMT: China has called for an immediate ceasefire in Libya, AP is reporting.

The agency said foreign ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu told a news conference Tuesday that China wants an immediate cease-fire and talks to end the violence.

China was one of five countries that abstained from last week's vote on the UN resolution

I feel the France, USA & co were to hurried on this issue. I mean, it is not even ascertained if these "rebels" represent the majority of Libyans or not. Who armed these guys anyways?

From what I can ascertain, some Libyan military units went over to the rebels rather than fire on civilian protestors. Those military units provided weapons as long as they were available. The rebels are still short of weaponry for those who wish to fight.
