National security should not be sacrificed even in economic hardships (unless the economic downturn is extremely severe)

1. There should be no needless war posturing.

2. The East / Global South once have a common self-defense bloc ( and economic commonwealth ), I am sure a large part of current financial allocation for military needs in individual countries can be deemed unnecessary and realized for a unified fight against COVID-2019. For example, India is the world's second largest importer of armaments. This need not remain so in a bloc.
